So I was the only one thrown off by it having only 6 characters today, where it had 9underscores in the question? The underscores and characters matched up for the other words you see...
Hmm... The answer should have 3 or 4 "c"?
I was only thrown off by it in that I thought today's answer might be longer, and I actually put together some stuff in a spreadsheet. Since it was only 6 letters, it probably would be have been faster to assemble the sequence manually,but I don't trust myself at 3:00 anyway.

Aha, there is no unscrambling... These are Ancronyms? Is that what they're called.. Like first letters, or something, right?

It had to do with the advent calender. The letters stood for items you got.. Everyone had to wait until the next day because you needed to know what the calender gave to you- so you could use the first letter of every item.
