I came up with a similar solution to get 13 pouches. My numbers were 1, 2, 3, 7, 14, 28, 50, 106, 212, 424, 848, 1696, and the remainder being 1575. What I did was keep using all of the numbers until I had used each pouch-- that is how I determined what the next number was going to be, just always 1 more than the total. For example with 1, 2, & 3 being used, the total would be 6. The next number I need is a 7. Now I can keep going until 13. This time, my next number is 14 (13 as the last total plus 1). I actually did take the time to figure this all out myself so if anyone has questions, feel free to ask.
