The last two letters are consecutive consonants. The possible consecutive consonants are: bc, cd, fg, gh, jk, kl, lm, mn, pq, qr, rs, st, vw, wx, xy, yz. Out of those, gh, rs and st seem like the likeliest possibilities, with lm and mn being less likely. I would eliminate xy, since in that case, y would be serving as a vowel instead of a consonant.
@lennyfan,
Continuing on, the most common predecessor for gh would be ou, which isn't possible since only one preceding letter is a vowel. That would tend to leave rs and st as the likeliest ending combinations.
@lennyfan,
Got it! Thanks! Lennyfan do you have it?
@Smil3r,
Looks like it's going to be another 400 NP week :/
Thanks, buddy.
@Smil3r,
Really!?!?! That's not cool =/
Hey, people only come here to get the answers. If you can morally justify to yourself looking at other peoples "hints" and "working it out for yourself", then good for you. Some people (like me) don't think there's much difference between posting hint after hint after hint, or just posting the answer outright. So I did the latter.
Enjoy!
Well, I'm glad I got it in before that got spilled. At least I have a SLIGHT chance at top 250. Boo.
Why all the hate? o_O You guys wouldn't be here if you didn't want help getting the answer.
@Smil3r,
So you decide to go against your 'morals'? Nice excuse
@jvj1,
No, I didn't have it until someone posted it. My strengths are in math, not language, so I can analyze, but tend not to find the answer very quickly.
By the way, if enough people vote down a post (like the full answer), it will be hidden by default when the page is displayed.
@willzi8,
" So you decide to go against your 'morals'? Nice excuse Wink"
-x-
No, I decide to help the people who come here looking for the answer - since that's what we're all here for anyway

.
@Smil3r,
Thank you Smil3r
I thought the last part was 'ghost' so I was totally stuck xD
@EvilMynci,
Thanks
Answer is Mrs. Prenderghast , to anyone who missed it! :*
Obviously we have differences of opinion about whether we would like people to post the final answer here as opposed to giving people some hints or direction about how to find the answer.
In my case, posting hints was just dumping my thoughts as I looked at the possible patterns for the answer. I like to encourage people to work for the answer, so I prefer not to give out the final answer or hints that are too obvious. I like some of the math problems where people that have solved the problem can give things like the sum of the digits of the answer and such - things that can be used to give your own answer a sanity check. In problems like this, that isn't really possible.
I do like to help people that are really stuck, particularly in cases where people don't have some of the basic knowledge and can learn as they go. For instance, a few weeks ago, we posted the formula for a circle and made sure that for the pizza problems, people knew that just buying the cheapest size of pizza wasn't necessarily going to result in the lowest cost.
Anyway, the argument about posting answers has gone around and around again. I don't think there is a right or wrong about it - just people's preferences. So from now on, I plan to just vote with my thumb. Since I don't like them, I'll just vote thumbs-down on any post that gives the final answer, since I don't like it. If enough people share my views, then it will disappear from the forum unless you explicitly click the link to view the post. If more people want to see the answer posted, then it will stay visible.
@lennyfan,
Sweet! I didn't know about the thumbs rating.
@jvj1,
I think they just added the thumbs recently. I only recall seeing them in the last few weeks. Last week someone posted the answer and I was puzzled for the longest time trying to find it (since I was looking for the original post for some replies) until I noticed the tiny little link to view post.
