I drew it out on paper to get the answer wrote the clues on the boxes then went from there.

Gah, I didnt read that there were EIGHT boxes. I was trying to solve for 7 and wondering why I couldnt get it to work. *headdesk*

Here's what I did:
List of variables:
Green = A
Purple = B
Orange = C
White = D
Blue = E
Pink = F
Yellow = G

B + 15 = A
or
B + 16 = A

A/7=odd whole number

Therefore, A had to be 7,21,35,49 etc. etc.
7 is ruled out because A+15<>7
21/7=3
21-15=6=B
or
21-16=5=B

I went with 6.
B/2=C
6/2=3=C
B/3=D
6/3=2=D
A+D=E
21+2=E
E=23
C+F=E
3+F=23
F=20
F=5G
20=5G
G=4
21+6+3+2+23+20+4=79
120-79=41
8th box = 41
Multiply it all out.

This was way too simple arithmetic... Orange and White are the most influential boxes. And Green just sets the rest up to work properly. Considering Orange and White, there are so few numbers to choose from where you could easily plug in a couple numbers to solve it.

If you do what I did, and reduce the Red box formula (120 - all other boxes), to be (c - coefficient*Purple) where c is a constant and coefficient is a fraction, you can even add another factor to reduce the possible number so that there are only 2 options, where 1 ends up invalid.

so here is my problem with that. I have a solution using green is purple plus 16
green 28
purple 12
orange 6
white 4
Blue 31
Yellow 5
Pink 25
black 9
and get 33747840000

One problem. Green/7 is an ODD whole number. Therefore, not equal to 4.

Anyway the answer I got was a 7 digit number.. I got it by trail and error..

trial, not trail, cat... And ps... Blacksazaku? I don't have a gelert even if it WERE me! *hint hint*

The actually answer in code is %-&-)-#-@-^-$-) fear my wrath of code!

It mean that the number is odd and isn't a decimal numcer e.g: 5.5
That is what it means by a whole number. I have tried for ever to figure out the answer but I can't get it. Oh well good luck everyone

examples.... 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17,19,21,23,25,27,29, etc. No deci and no dividabkle by two...........
