I'm happy to help people along who are actually trying to work out the puzzle, but I certainly won't blurt out my answer. (And there's no way of you being sure I'm even correct until next Wednesday anyway!)

Forget the variables. Big clue: There are 120 Meepits total. Just start filling in numbers and go with what makes sense--for instance, assume there are 2 Meepits in the first box and see what that gives.

It's impossible... if you only deal with whole numbers, and you're limited to 120 total, the only amount of Meepits that can be in the green box is 21. And if you follow the steps from there, you end up with 110 Meepits in the Yellow box alone. And there's still the eighth box unaccounted-for.

English is not my language, but FWIU Green have to be 21 or 35 (Odd number by 7) and Purple have to be divisible by 6. So, since Purple is 15/16 more than green, P may be 21 and G may be 6.

So W is 2 and O is 3.

This should be a good starting point...

It means an odd number. I think they wanted to make sure you understood that there aren't any fractions of Meepits.
