@Leopard,
it ends with BWR. Don't post anything else about the answer besides if you got this.

Pecky - how long did it take you with Excel? I sent my answer in about 20-30 minutes after the question came out. I really hope I got in top 10

Actually, I sent you a PM about it. I sent mine in slightly before that PM. It took me 5 minutes. Literally, for me it was =b2b(36, 10, $A1) in B2, =pfactorize($B2) in C2, and =IF(LEN($C2)=0,0,LEN(TRIM($C2))-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(TRIM($C2)," ",""))+1) in D2. Then Just checking the Pet Central for all species on my other computer (for speed).

After that, I just had to sort a couple times and =(Absolute Address) for 3 boxes. =SUM(Range), and a last =b2b(10, 36, SUM(Range)) and there was my answer.

All in all, I would say about 5 minutes from looking at the question to getting the answer. I really don't know when the question came out though. I mentioned my final tomorrow? That was what I was doing until I hit my break and remembered to check neopets. lolz.

Will it be wrong if I added .0 onto the end of BWR?

edstock, your hint for #2 is epic... and awesome.

Thanks for the compliment, but I need to redo it, since I had multiplied the three numbers instead of adding them. Okay, my revised attributes of my answer:
1. 7 digits long
2. Start and end digits are not both numbers or both letters
3. 4 letters and 3 numbers

Still leaves millions of possibilities.

It would not be wrong, but i think TNT would count it as a bad answer

Yes. I don't know why the converter puts a decimal in there, but the .0 is INCORRECT

@blacksuzaku,
Maybe they're trying floating point conversions? =P (Oh no! My final is bleeding into my thoughts, AAAGGGHHHH!)

These are actually the kind of Lenny's I like since they are so straight-forward. The problem is finding them quickly enough after they are posted. And, yes, they do require some math understanding to be able to get them easily.

@edstock,
That is definitely my problem. I have NEVER seen a Lenny Conundrum after only minutes of it being out. It's usually 15 or 30 minutes before I realize it is there. =P

They do do floating point conversions! Try converting 1.9 from base 36 to base 10. They always add a trailing zero, it appears. They get round-off error after about 14 digits, when converting from base 36 to base 10, based on computing 1.C.

@edstock,
lolz. At least I know I'm learning from my studying now. Hahahaz.

I think my answer was submitted between 1 hour and 1 hour 10 minutes after LC came up today. I have no idea how likely it will be to get top 10 or top 250 with that time. =P I always see questions late which is why I'm not usually top 10, but I am usually in top 250.
