New Lenny!

"How many users entered last week's Lenny Conundrum? Please round to the nearest 100."

Umm... haha... how are we supposed to know that? Is there a post somewhere that they said it in?

And this week is probably a guess . . .

If you got last weeks right (which I did) you know how many Neopoints your eanred, and can therefore work out how many people got the correct answer (2,000,000 total points divided by what you got). But how this relates to the total number who entered I do not konw. Do we assume that the people who bothered to enter mostly got it right? Or is it 50/50 between right and wrong. Or the other extreme, that lots of people just take a pot luck guess, and only a small percent get it!

I dunno!

Any thoughts?

Well, last weeks question was pretty hard, and unless you knew it I really doubt many people would put in a random guess. So if it was 2200 people last week, I would put in 2300, unless anyone has any better ideas.

Is there a new conundrum? I haven't seen the usual flood of redundant questions.

Yes thought of that, but the Neopian Times only tells you haw many people got last weeks correct - and I already knew that! :wink:

Unless the answers is lurking somewhere in the midst of Neopia, I'm pretty sure that this week's answer is an educated guess.

So I've entered my guesss, and I'll let you know on Thursday how far off the mark I was!!

Good look fellow "Lennies"!

There's a new Lenny up. 15,400 was the last answer, so I'm curious to know if any of you got it. The new one seems a bit... Difficult. Well, not really. Decoding and all that. I don't have the window open, so I can't copy and paste, but the gist of it...

Dr. Sloth created a teleportation device. The only problem is that he doesn't know WHERE the device will go. He puts 129359 into the device, and the first Grundo is sent to the Lost Desert. He puts 371249 into it, and the second Grundo ends up on Terror Mountain. Third, he puts 235137. Where does the third Grundo end up.

129359 = Lost Desert
371249 = Terror Mountain
235137 = ?

maybe its the pixel location?
Or maybe the pixel local (x- and y-coordinates) within the map itself...? So you're looking at the location pictured at the x=129, y=359 pixel? Or a picture with that pixel dimension?

You use Paint Shop Pro too? Cool! :wink:

But, yeah, I'm having the same pixel-problem you're having. I was hoping there was maybe another map image I couldn't find...?

Hey all!
Haunted woods is definitely the answer...

If you go 359 pixels left, and 129 up, you're directly on the blue dot (at the bottom of the little line coming from the text box...)for the lost desert, 249 left and 371 up us exactly the blue dot for terror mountain, 137 left and 235 over is exactly on the blue dot for the haunted woods!

That's my DEFINITELY my guess too!!!

maybe move it this way...?
I can get the pixel-numbers to match if I rotate the image anti-clockwise 90° (a quarter-turn), and then mirror it (flip it left-right). Then the blue dot for the Lost Desert is right around (x, y) = (125, 354) and the dot for Terror Mountain is around (x, y) = (367, 245). But (x, y) = (235, 137) takes me to the speckles in the ocean. Are these the "Ruins"? The Haunted Forest is at (x, y) = (215, 370), which doesn't seem to fit.

You have to use reverse logic... it's not the (x,y) coordinates... it's the (y,-x) coordinates you kind of have to think outside the box....

the first three numbers are the Y coordinates and the last three are the NEGATIVE X coordinates.... try in again... you don't have to rotate and flip the picture, just work back to fron t in your own mind...

put a 10 px grid on your picture of the map

If you go 35 grid marks (350 pixels) from the LEFT (-x) and up 12 grid marks (120 pixels) from the bottom you'll see the little blue dot for the lost dessert right there...
