Goodnight Maria. I also have a busy schedule for my afternoon (here in Australia) so I too, will have to abandon the wait.

To greyjunior, I would be tempted to just do it all again (I have done it 3 times, once on my original main - frozen, then on my side - also frozen and last week or so on my current main - YET to be frozen LOL) - about 6 hours, yes *sigh* but at least it is working now. Just go slowly and do 1 or 2 constellations per day. Just think how many times you have had that "trophy score" for a game, for the score to not be processed. Goodluck.

It's weird, I wanted to check one last time before turning in - and I saw the one where the answer was 'coconut'. I see again now. And it can't be an old cookie, I cleared all internet cookies and history today.

I've been getting that all morning (my time). But mine keeps coming up as the last one, the amount of np given away in YR 9 LC comps. Thought it might be my end (using faster fox which sometimes causes glitches) - but maybe it is a site problem.

Maybe they're having some problems and that's why it's late. Anyways, bedtime.

Bye y'all =)

New LC out:

On Neopia's first New Year's Eve, some of Neopia's citizens planted a pine tree in the Haunted Woods to commemorate the first New Year's celebration. The tree was just a sapling; the trunk was cone-shaped, and its circumference at the base was 14 cm and its height was 124 cm.

Every year since then, its height has increased 45% over the previous year, and its circumference has increased 22%. If the density of the wood is 530 kilogrammes per cubic metre, how many kilogrammes did the tree's trunk weigh this past New Year's Eve?

Not sure when it came out, just found it.

OK let's go slowly.
Cone volume = 1/3(area of base)(height)

Area of circle (base) = pie r ^2

Aaargh, they forgot to specify how to round it. I'm going to go with the standard round up to the next integer.

Also
circumference of a circle = 2 pie r
so, once we figure out the increase in size over ?how many Neopian years, we can get the radius, which will give us the area and ultimately the volume of the cone.
Then to find a formula to convert volume to mass.
Going off to have a think but off to a reasonable start.

Not sure if this works:

Looking at 10% of 14cm being 1.4 so 1.4 x 45 + 14 and 10% of 124cm being 12.4 so 12.4 x 22 + 124 .. Something like that and then not sure how to work out the rest if the first part is right at all??

Wouldn't it be only 8 years of growth? First New Year's at the end of year 1 and we just finished year 9.

Wouldn't it only be 8 years? New Years Eve of 1999 it was 14 cm, then increased 22% every year, ending in 2007?

I came up with 68.7 cm
