mhhhh do you really think this solution is that difficult?
i think there's a simpler answer... but of course i can't find it, so i'm not helpful at all.
according to the lcs i read and solved, i think this has something to do with the S words.
I think last number could be 6 or 8!
Someone on the NeoBoard said try separating it. Then they said try by hundreds tens and ones.
I still can't figure it out.
*Is still trying to figure out how you got the 4 for the second number LOL*
first column:
4 and 2 = difference of 2
3 and 5 = 2
6 and 8 = 2
second column:
2 and 5 = 3
1 and 4 = 3
5 and 2 = 3
third column:
7 and 6 = 1
2 and 6 = 4
6 and 3 = 3
Don't know how that fits...
Somehow as difficult as this seems, I don't think its something as simple as column based calculations...
I'm gone go with the number being 745... just guessing no real idea
so the answer 3765
I guessed too, 3584... I think.
on the neopets forum, they say the solution is a 4 digits number, but three of them are the same.
they also say not to overthink about it, because "it's all in the LC page".
How bout this one:
First column....go one number at a time:
4
2
3
5
6
8
Each time is difference of 2, 1, 2, 1, 2....
Second column...go TWO numbers at a time:
2
5
1
4
5
2
Each time it is difference of 3 (2-5, 1-4 and 5-2)
Third column...go THREE numbers at a time:
7
6
2
6
6
3
Each time it adds up to 15 (7 6 2 and 6 6 3)
At least the pattern makes sense! Column one 1 at a time, column two 2 at a time and column three 3 at a time.
two people say their results got two digits which were the same.
Using my formula, for lack of a better word, the last column difference would be zero.
Well I guess I'll just have to wait until next week to try for a gold.
that's good taylor hmm. i was trying to add up the numbers.. like 427=4+2+7=13
i came out with 13 13 6 15 17 13 so i guess that doesnt work out unless the last ones 13
anyone know the answer yet?
I might have a pretty good idea of how this might be patterned out...
Btw, I'm new to the board...
snowqueen, if you are willing to give any thoughts, they will be most welcome.
Feel free to tell us how it is patterned out...
I think the first number might be seven, and the last five.. but I don't know about the middle.
I could be totally off though.
Well.. Knowing how horrible at math as I am. I'm dead wrong.. As well as confused..
If you add all the numbers together...
Example...
4 + 2 + 7 = 13
2 + 5 + 6 = 13
3 + 1 +2 = 6
5 + 4 + 6 = 15
6 + 5 + 6 = 17
8 + 2 + 3 = 13
Then add the 13's together..
13 + 13 + 13 = 39...
Maybe add a zero making it 390.
I don't know; Great, Now I am lost again..
