okay i think chankeroo was right that we're looking at probabilities instead of odds... odds are possible outcomes:impossible outcomes (i checked a site on google(yes i checked credentials and it seem legit))

I also think in this case odds stands for possible outcomes:total, so probabilities
probability is possible outcomes:total outcomes
odds is possibly outcomes: impossible outcomes.

but the question said: What are the odds that, upon rolling the five dice, you would be able to spell the name of a Neopet species with some or all of the letters displayed on the dice? ... it says odds... so should we be trying to use the possible:impossible equation?
yes! just stick to what the question asks. it asks for odds so use the odds equation
