Blah, fine, I'll just give you it then.

The first number is the count of how many times it appears. They are sorted from the top. Because of various possible differences in what's considered a word, it could conceivably be any of number 14, 15 or 16. I went for the 14th, personally.
i think the answer would be "what" because the question says "What is the fourteenth most common word used in Lenny Conundrum questions? " but if you take away the question mark, it says that the word "what" is the fourteenth most common word. i could be wrong but if you look at it in that way it would be correct
Well, Ferret's calculations and mine also support the fact that "What" is the answer as well as hyperbunny6 clever theory. So I think all those people who were waiting for the answer to get the neopoints can go right ahead and plug that in...
another method to get word count...
Using the text that Ferret kindly supplied, thank you Ferret...
Copy/paste the entire thing into Word or another word processor...
Make sure your cursor is at the very beginning of the document and hit
<CTRL> F ...this should bring up the "find" dialoug box...
type in the word you want a count of...move over to the "replace" tab and put another word, I used "counted" to replace the word as it is counted...
In the lower corner of the dialog box is a button.."more" click this and then make sure the check box "Find whole words only" is checked...
Now click "replace all" and it will replace the word you want a count of with your replacement word and a box will pop up saying how many times the word was replaced...this is your word count....and i got the same numbers as Ferret and company...
till next week.....
Ha.
Awesome.
I solve the LC all by myself based on pure guessing.
I hope I was one of the first 250, I sent it in as soon as I saw it.

So did anybody get the answer right? You don't get an neomail with the points and prizes unless you're right.
Round 200
I regret to point out some problems with Ferret's impressive work regarding Round 200:
1) Apparently, the word "what's" (which appears twice) has been included in the count for "what". I'd say it's a different word - a contraction of two words, in fact, and so should not count with the "what"s.
2) Apparently, the word "how" has not been counted from Round 39, because it appears in his list under "age_of_doctor_sloth_when_he_discovered_how_to_make_mutants_____".
Note that adjusting for these two problems results in a tie (at 110) between "how" and "what". But, continuing:
3) Due to the trickery involved with the questions, Ferret has no data at all included for Rounds 55, 56, and 119. Round 55, from what I can gather, included "random words and numbers" and was removed from the site. Theoretically, the original words should be included in the stats. Chances are they wouldn't change anything, but the situation for the other two missing rounds are relevant:
4) For Round 56, you apparently had to go through some html tricks to get at a series of questions. These questions included unequal numbers of occurrences of the words "how" and "what" (breaking the tie).
5) For Round 119, there was apparently only a white square, where the question only became evident after another html trick was employed. When you finally got to the actual question, it added the same complication as in Round 56 (with the tie ending up still being broken)!
So there were "how"s and "what"s in Rounds 56 and 119 that were not counted at all in Ferret's tally.
I'm not sure you can even get to the actual Round 56 and Round 119 questions currently - I found them on THIS forum! Nonetheless, the question makes NO qualification that only the questions available on the site be used in the count, so everything should be counted.
For the sake of cleverness, the answer being "what" makes the most sense (why else would they pick the 14th most frequent?), but I'm not so sure that it is the TRUE answer! I guess we'll see how the "powers that be" figure it!
its like a billion other riddles of this type...
...the answer is in the question.
"what" is the fourteenth most common used word.
get it?
maladroitmortal: Yep, a lot of people agree with you on that one.
Optimizer: Indeed, this is why I was very careful to point out that due to what would be considered a word, answers would vary. I also gave my methodology and the converted html before counting so that people would be able to see that the process isn't perfect.
However, I think TNT wouldn't be so unfair as to have a different right answer just because the record of past LCs on neopets.com is no longer quite right, or because of things like html tricks and words in images. The fact that their first 13 answers came out the same as mine was the reason I bothered to post it at all. ;p
Dear Osh,
Congratulations! You have guessed correctly in the Lenny Conundrum game (round 200). You have won 170 NP!

This one seems like it would be a guess and not something that we could actually calculate
I guessed too based on the high amount of winners last week!
yeah i could use a little help too.. i've been trying, but im not very smart haha
I think I know it!!!!
"Welcome to Lenny Conundrum. Every week I will set a new riddle for you to guess. Entering the competition is free, and all correct answers will split the 2,000,000 Neopoint prize pool."
"11805 people guessed the correct answer earning themselves 170 NP each."
Ok so, I took the 2,000,000 that gets split and divided by the 170, which gave me 11764.70.......... Rounded up to 11765. I then took that number and subtracted it from 11805 and got 40!!!!!!
If you don't round up the 11764.70 and subtract from the 11805 it comes out as 40.29, either way it's 40. That's what I entered, hope I'm right!
That tells how many people got it right. There's no way to tell how many people got it WRONG unless you have access to the Neopets database.
Did you not read my post correctly or something??
I put 40 (forty) as my answer, not the other numbers, that just showed my calculations of how I got 40.
2,000,000 / 170 = 11764.70
11764.70 - 11805 = 40
Sorry that you actually had to read the calculation to understand it, does this help any!!!!
