Um... you mean the answer that's highlighted in red on the previous page...?

Eliz.

(See, this is why I don't understand the complaints about people giving out the answers. Even when you give complete worked solutions, links, and explanations, and highlight the answer, people still complain that it's too hard to find the answer.)

I could be an idiot, but what I did was was add the digits of each term together, which for 142 + 468 = 621 would be 7 and 18. Then I multiplied these together and got 126, which is 621 backwards.
For 3762 + 8271 = ?, it would be 18 and 18, multiplied together is 324. Backwards, this is 423, which is what I answered. Let me state again that I am most likely an idiot, and by no means take responsibility for any wrong answers taken from this post.

Nice theory, but...

4 + 4 would then equate to 4 x 4 = 16. Reverse digits = 61!! The Conundrum states the answer is 8. Sad

No, the answer lies in Base 9. Just as an additional quest, does anybody know the 'name' for base nine - ie Binary is base 2, octal is base 8, decimal is base 10, and hexadecimal is base 16. So what is base 9???

Anyway, thanks to Stapel (Eliz.) for pointing us in the right direction.

Perhaps in future, anybody who knows the answer should publish it in 100 point font, in bright red, highlighted in yellow, with a big arrow labelled "THIS IS THE ANSWER", YES THIS ONE HERE" because every week, even after correct answers are published, people come on and ask what the answer acrually is.

Just in case there is any douby the answer is definately 294,215,686,440,197,141,401..... or was that last weeks??? Very Happy

What is the official answer for last week's puzzle. I'm curious about the value they used for the number of days in a year.

You know I don't really like the way that I am being "the one to blame" in here, I am sorry that I didn't FIND what you guys had posted people make mistakes, and I find it very rude that you guys are sitting here saying these things. I made a mistake, you can't judge me for one mistake, it's not like I killed anyone..

Do you even READ the posts before you get offended by them?
Geez, nacine82; lighten up already. It's not all about you, ya know.

Does NOBODY read the posts in this thread?

Does nobody actually read the posts in this thread? Two pages ago, the problem was posted, discussed, and answered. One page ago, somebody posted saying, "Gee, I can't find the answer", and it was pointed out that the answer was highlighed in red on the preceeding page; somebody suggested that maybe we should put the answer in big blinking text or something, for all the people who read the answer and don't see it. Now somebody else is saying he can't find the answer.

THE ANSWER IS "3762 + 8271 = 13143"

======================================

Is that what you had in mind, Mark?

If you're referring to your questions about whether the base-9 math question is the latest Lenny Conundrum and about the number of days assumed for a "year" for a previous Conundrum, I did see your posts, but I'm afraid I can't help you, as I have no access to the Neopets' site. Sorry!

294,215,686,440,197,141,401 was the answer to the previous Lenny. 365.2425 was what they used for their year for that calculation.

Yeah - I remember you mentioning that before. It's the "year" question I want answered. I don't have access either. I just threw that last post out there for kicks.

nacine82 is taking the comments personally, which she shouldn't. However, it is not unexpected. She is unaware of the previous offences by other people for the same reason that she didn't know the answer was already posted. Seems people are in too big of a rush to read a few posts. Hers was only the eighth post for this problem.

Thanks! I wonder how many people got that. Google's calculator shows 365.242199.
