looks like 55 was the correct answer, still missed out on the avatar though
I have the avatar but I would like to try for the gold and I missed the answer this go round by one. I had 56 and the correct answer was 55
You are confronted with the following formula:
A * [(B + C)(D - E) - F(G*H) ] / J = 10
Knowing that each variable is a unique, single-digit, nonzero number, and that C - B = 1, and H - G = 3, what is the number ABCDEFGHJ, where each letter is a digit? For example, if A = 4, B = 2, and C = 7, ABC would equal 427.
ooh
^that answers wrong, just checked it...
It is right
No, you simply didn't use the the equation posted on the Lenny conundrum page, and assumed the equation posted on here was correct - it wasn't, it didn't include the exponents in superscript, so you treated it as one long sentence instead of making some of them exponents. The answer 256973148 is 100% correct, gj on the person who figured it out.
Edit: Changed to improve clarity.
AKKK I'm not good with math conundrums.....

Would somebody please post the corrected equation then?
(The carat key, Shift-6 on most keyboards, is customarily used to denote exponents. For instance, 3^2 = 9.)
Thank you.

A * [(B + C)^(D - E) - F^(G*H) ] / J = 10
yep thats what i got too.
wrote an extremely inefficient brute force program to do it, but it did the trick
Congratulations! You have guessed correctly in the Lenny Conundrum game (round 193). You have won 1228 NP!
Yours Sincerely,
The Neopets Team!
Hehe, so last week's answer of 55 was correct

. 256,973,148 is what I put in for this week.
help
so what is the answer to the problem
A * [(B + C)^(D - E) - F^(G*H) ] / J = 10

What objection do you have to the solution posted already?
Please be specific. Thank you.

Actually

ACTUALLY, I did use all the I used that equation, and substituted everything (and yes, even the square roots) I checked it all, its wrong, sorry... Think about it, you come up with a HUGE number in the parentheses (after doing everything) then you have to times it by two, even multiplied by 8, its not gunna work...
