Hidding a post

I received a message from facebook saying that I hid a post from a friend which I didn't. Is it possible that the person who tagged me in the post hid the post from one of his friends and I received that notification from facebook as well?

Maybe. Facebook is horribly at privacy and a lot of the controls don't work the way people expect.
