Okay, next year I am moving from Melbourne to Noosa. I have listed the pro's and con's. Any other contributions would be welcome
PRO'S
Surf, Sun and Sex. Well Surf and Sun anyway. Beautiful climate and lovely beaches
An hours drive from major city in Brisbane.
Beautiful town/city with friendly people.
CON'S
Football, football and football. Although it is televised similar to Melbourne, and I can buy the herald sun, I will miss hearing it on radio and the general football fever that Melbourne has.
Hard to go out on the town. Too far for taxi back.
Smaller population and not as much to do as in melbourne.
Cons:
very touristy
I don't think there is any public transport to brisbane (is there?)
far away from family + friends
you might start getting very bored, and get sick of your only activity of visiting the beach and going to local pubs and touristy restruants/cafes/nightclubs
you might get annoyed with the small size of Noosa
They are all good points. I thought of those. I think what you are saying is it is different for holiday and living.
What are you going to do in Noosa, australia? New job there, retiring, year off?
<realising i havent even got a clue what age you are>
age 30.
yep retiring. It is a beautiful place, beautiful beaches and restaurants and bars etc. But the other points were vaild, because it is not a big town, maybe it is easy to get bored after a while.
Hi, sorry if that sounded harsh. I think you should live there for, say, a year, and see if you like it. Wow, if I were you I wouldn't, you should still enjoy your youth.
Just do the regular Aussie retiree tradition. Get a caravan and tour round Australia
