I'm on the other side. Where I come from, valleys are dime a dozen... but that bridge is extraordinary.
Yes, it is gorgeous. I have been getting news about this bridge at the same time the Bay Bridge renovation in SF is being cut back to the very ordinary.

This one is, either, over water, the river Tarn.
BTW, it's gorges are magnificent.
I'll have to agree with Diane, it does look like something out of Lord of the Rings.
Do you have the ring, Bilbo?
Why yes I do, Sam.
Well, throw the fockin' thing!
See, now, that's over water - makes sense.

Imagine living in that valley, looking out the window and seeing a few thousand trucks driving by every day. Imagine traffic jams every summer weekend from one end of the valley to the other end.
My personal opinion is that the bridge does look beautiful, and that its more important for the citizens of that valley to get rid of the transit traffic than having a perfect view...

I greatly enjoy Japanese women, and pulled pork sandwiches.
Huh, Slappy?
Yeah, I do know what you mean, Atrida, its a tough one. Although I dont know how seeing a few thousand trucks drive by up there, and the exhaust fumes coming from above instead (not to mention what happens if there's some accident), necessarily makes things any better. But yeah, no easy answers. All depends on whether you used to live by the old transit road or now have a pillar of that new viaduct in your farm, too.
Welcome to A2K, btw.
