I don't get on Facebook that often.

Here is what an American friend of mine wrote to me a couple of months ago:

I don't GET on Facebook that often.

My question is the following:

Would you be equally correct to write, "I don't GO on Facebook that often"? If so, does it have the same meaning as the sentence with "get"?
