Roger Chillingworth, Hester Prynne's nasty husband in The Scarlet Letter...
Seeing that rabbit makes me realize that "I'm late"!
Thank you for setting me straight on Major Major Major, Merry Andrew. I couldn't have been more wrong.
I don't know any German but I think even I might know what that name means.
The Handicapper General! Oh my gosh. I really have to reread Vonnegut.
Who was the guy who was freaked out when people said they were going to take a leak because he thought a leak was a mirror? Was THAT Kilgore Trout?
Dickens really was the master of naming.
Pecksniff.
I can picture them in my head and I don't even know what story they are from!
Chillingworth!
Hester Prynne is a pretty good name in and of itself.
Ichabod Crane might be one of the very best ever!
Seeing Verbal Kint makes me think of some great movie and TV names too --
Frazier Crane always seemed to fit so well.
MR.MICHAEL MOORE IS A GOOD FICTION AUTHOR
And you don't even mention all those great names he makes up!
Welcome to A2K, GW4EVER.
There are many political threads that you might find interesting.
Michae Blakes greatest character
TOWANEETOTONKAOWACHEE.
Van Norden.
Micky Spillaine.
Gargantua.
Spendius.
Atreides (Paul and Leto). Cannot get them out of my head. The name is so nice, and IMHO it sounds powerfull and also a name to respect based on their good deeds.
Vladimir Harkonen. Scarry, no? And also malevolent, almost machiavelique (dunno if spelled corerctly). This is even better than Atreides.
Duncan Idaho... dunno. But now that I think, most of the names in Dune fit the caracters.
And what about the names in LotR? Just by reading them, I was able to picture the caracter in my mind... (I had a little help from Heroes of Might and Magic, but still...)
Really nice tread. I have tried to remember some other names, but surprisingly I was not able to remember other names...
Except: Alice (in Wonderlands) and Ender and Bean. Nothing from Zolla, from Balzac... (D'Artagnan from Duma)... and so on
