I need a title

Reply Thu 2 Dec, 2004 09:41 pm
I , for the last 8 years, have been working on my biography. I am about to submit it but...
I need a title.

My story has alot of touchy subjects in it. Teenage homelessness, murder , prostitution, train hopping, rape, drug addiction etc.

With that in mind, what would be a good title?

Of course, my dear hubby said.. Well since it will be a best seller call it that. -Americas #1 best seller-" I like that... but.. its been done. Laughing
I dont want a 'sale slogan' I want a title that is catchy in rythm, but sort of dark.
Any suggestions?

Thank you MMS. :-) It is a big accomplishment.
Why do you suggest a one word title?
I have thought about that myself.. but... what I am afraid of is this
EVERYONE is on the homeless teenager life style bandwagon. I started this book before it became a fad.. Know what i mean? So I want something that stands out and doesnt fall into that 'talk show ' heap. I have noticed that alot of books with that subject matter have one word titles.
I still like the idea.. Of course.. I could always just call it .. Shewolf. Laughing
Not too original.. but funny.

I think because one word, can say it all. But it needs to be a word that will really catch the imagination. One word that desribes it all.

Unfortnately for me, I'm drawing a blank on that word right now. I think that goes along with another thread on A2K..lol.

But thats your pride and joy...and I would be very proud of myself if I were you. So go with your gut feeling!

Hey.....I'm not laughing. I'd pick it up and look at it......

Put it as #1 on your list and figure out a few more to choose through.

Congratulations! I wish you success Very Happy
It sounds like quite a story.

Here's a suggestion

Use this title with the amount of pages in your book
For example:

"359 Pages"

A few titles that I have found to be my favorites are :

Catcher in the Rye.. Why? because.. that title makes you say to yourself.. " wha' ? Whats that?"

Guns and Roses ... Contradiction.

Machines of love and grace. .. That is what humans are

i told my hubby about that last night and we both think that is a REALLY cool idea..
So.. i get up and start looking up book titles,.. Crying or Very sad It has been done.
245 pages of words, is a book title. AND.. it didnt do very well. I dont know if it was because OF the title or the writting.. >sigh<

I have written the book in 3rd person, so an editorial cluster of words like that is think is a great idea.
>sigh< It will take me 8 years to come up with a title now. HAH Laughing
I had actually chewed on your SCREENNAME for a title... Colorbook..
HHHHHHHHhmmmmm... hehehehe

Funny you should ask. This title kept going through my mind last night: " Free Falling In Paradise"

Don't have a clue what it means.
