Okay, folks. Letty is back and has a song stuck in her head, and I do NOT want to go through all the machinations to find it.

Nor do I want to ask my sister, cause she takes too long to remind me.

Part of the lyrics:

"....she has a bustle just like Lillian Russell...."

the nearest i could find is this song, perfomed by elvis

Look Out Broadway

We never got discouraged, we never had a doubt
'cos sooner or later talent must win out
Look out broadway, we're comin' fast
Now we're gonna see our names in lights at last
No more hot dogs at sloppy joe's
We're gonna dine on steak and wine at del monaco's
Rich or poor it's great to have dough
That's one thing we know
Lots of fun, lots of laughs
Signing cheques and contracts and autographs
We're up for n-e-w y-o-r-k
Look out, look out broadway

I wanna see all the hustle and bustle
Maybe I can get a date with lilian russell
I want to go out with diamond jim
Yeh, if he gives you a diamond what will you give to him
Blow the trumpets and beat on the drum
Big time here we come
No more cheap hotels and one night stands
We'll knock tin pan alley flat on it's pans
They'll see that we've got class with a capital k
Look out, look out broadway
Look out!

She's Lost Control
Joy Division

Confusion in her eyes that says it all.
She's lost control.
And she's clinging to the nearest passer by,
She's lost control.
And she gave away the secrets of her past,
And said I've lost control again,
And a voice that told her when and where to act,
She said I've lost control again.

And she turned around and took me by the hand and said,
I've lost control again.
And how I'll never know just why or understand,
She said I've lost control again.
And she screamed out kicking on her side and said,
I've lost control again.
And seized up on the floor, I thought she'd die.
She said I've lost control.
She's lost control again.
She's lost control.
She's lost control again.
She's lost control.

Well I had to 'phone her friend to state my case,
And say she's lost control again.
And she showed up all the errors and mistakes,
And said I've lost control again.
But she expressed herself in many different ways,
Until she lost control again.
And walked upon the edge of no escape,
And laughed I've lost control.
She's lost control again.
She's lost control.
She's lost control again.
She's lost control.

dj, welcome back, Canada. We missed you. I don't think that's the one, but thanks, honey.

Wow! who would have thought that Elvis did something like that. Shocked

ah, Canada. I missed your lost control lyrics. Great song, buddy.

Frankly, folks, I think control has been lost on Eyremil's question thread, so let's get back in the swingin mood:

Sweet Caroline Lyrics
by Neil Diamond

Where it began, I can't begin to know when
But then I know it's growing strong
Oh, wasn't the spring, whooo
And spring became the summer
Who'd believe you'd come along

Hands, touching hands, reaching out
Touching me, touching you
Oh, sweet Caroline
Good times never seem so good
I've been inclined to believe it never would

And now I, I look at the night, whooo
And it don't seem so lonely
We fill it up with only two, oh
And when I hurt
Hurting runs off my shoulder
How can I hurt when holding you

Oh, one, touching one, reaching out
Touching me, touching you
Oh, sweet Caroline
Good times never seem so good
Oh I've been inclined to believe it never would

Ohhh, sweet Caroline, good times never seem so good

Transmission
Joy Division

Radio, live transmission.
Radio, live transmission.

Listen to the silence, let it ring on.
Eyes, dark grey lenses frightened of the sun.
We would have a fine time living in the night,
Left to blind destruction,
Waiting for our sight.

And we would go on as though nothing was wrong.
And hide from these days we remained all alone.
Staying in the same place, just staying out the time.
Touching from a distance,
Further all the time.

Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.

Well I could call out when the going gets tough.
The things that we've learnt are no longer enough.
No language, just sound, that's all we need know, to synchronise
love to the beat of the show.

And we could dance.

Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.

WOW! Love that dance song, dj. Do I ever miss dancing, listeners.

I have invited a young man from Cuba and presently living in Miami to tune in to our station. I do hope he will.

In the interim:

Artist: ROBBIE WILLIAMS

There may be trouble ahead
But while there's moonlight and music
And love and romance
Let's face the music and dance

Before the fiddlers have fled
Before they ask us to pay the bill
And while we still
Have the chance
Let's face the music and dance

Soon
We'll be without the moon
Humming a different tune
And then

There may be teardrops to shed
So while there's moonlight and music
And love and romance
Let's face the music and dance
Dance
Let's face the music and dance

Slippin and slidin - Little Richard
(Collins / Penniman / Bocage / Smith)

Slippin' and a-slidin', peepin' and a-hidin'
Been told a long time ago-ho-ho-oh-woh
Slippin' and a-slidin', peepin' and a-hidin'
Been told a long time ago-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho
I've been told, baby, you've been bold
I won't be your fool no more

Oh, big conniver, nothin' but a jiver
I done got hip to your ji-i-i-i-i-ive
Oh, big conniver, nothin' but a jiver
Done got hip to your ji-i-i-i-i-ive
Slippin' and a-slidin', peepin' and a-hidin'
And I won't a-be your fool no more

Oh, my Linda, she's a solid sender
You know you better surrender
Oh, my Linda, she's a solid sender
You know you better surrender
Slippin' and slidin', peepin' and hidin'
And I won't be your fool no more

Slippin' and a-slidin', peepin' and a-hidin'
Been told a long time-a time ago-ho-ho-oh-woh
Slippin' and a-slidin', peepin' and a-hidin'
Been told a long time ago-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho
I've been told, baby, you've been bold

Love that Little Richard song, edgar, but I think it's time for Letty to slip off to bed.

My goodnight song for all of you here:

There's a calm surrender to the rush of day
When the heat of the rolling world can be turned away
An enchanted moment, and it sees me through
It's enough for this restless warrior just to be with you

And can you feel the love tonight
It is where we are
It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we got this far
And can you feel the love tonight
How it's laid to rest
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best

There's a time for everyone if they only learn
That the twisting kaleidoscope moves us all in turn
There's a rhyme and reason to the wild outdoors
When the heart of this star-crossed voyager beats in time with yours

Blowing kisses to you all..................................

From Letty with love.

Whoa Sailor - Rose Maddox

Well, I'll tell you bout my night on shore if you will lend an ear
I stepped into a cabaret to get myself a beer
A pretty girl sat all alone and she needed company
But when I got close this gal a rose this is what she said to me

Now she said, whoa, sailor be careful what you do
In your eye there's a gleam and to me it seems your just like all the rest
With a wolfish eye and a line that's sly then a salior's at his best

---- Instrumental Interlude ----

Now look here babe you've got me wrong I'm not that kinda guy
I just got back from across the sea where there are no gals arie
Now let me talk to you a while I'm sure you'll see my way
But when I went to spout she turned about this is what she had to say
Now she said whoa sailor I've heard that line before
You'll look into my eyes and tell me lies and tales of the seven seas
But a sailor's full of that kinda bull so don't hand it to me

---- Instrumental Interlude ----

Oh, pretty girl you've let me down you've broken my poor heart
And oh how it hurt when you had to spout that last sad remark
I said I think I have a drink and I broke out six month's pay
With a wide open eyes she breathed a sigh this time she had to say

Now she said, whoa, sailor I think you've won my heart
Well, she was right neat and she sure was sweet but I knew she was that sort
But she's not all to blame cause it's a sailor's aim to have a girl in every port

I've gratefully accepted Letty's invitation. Just one questions, are poems allowed?

I'd venture to read them myself even.

While you decide here's a song:

Angel of the morning - The Carpenters Version

There'll be no strings to bind your hands
Not if my love can find your heart
And there's no need to take a stand
For it was I who choose to start
I see no need to take me home
I'm old enough to face the dawn

Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me
Oh my baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Then slowly turn away from me

Maybe the sunlight will be dim
But it won't matter anyhow
If morning's echoes say we've sinned
Then it was what I wanted now
And if we're victims of the night
I won't be blinded by the light

Oh my baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me, baby
Just call me angel of the morning
Then slowly turn away from me

Baby baby baby

Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me
Oh my baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me, baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me
Oh my baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel

I remember the late great John Lennon singing that song Slippin an' a-Sliding...I didn't know the version by Little Richard, shame on me.

Or if I did, I'd forgotten it.

Little Richard was/is the greatest, totally unique.

Good morning, WA2K listeners and contributors. It is quite early here in my little corner of the world. Couldn't sleep. Happens sometimes.

Eyremil, I am so delighted that you have decided to join us here in our little studio. Thank you for that angel song. I really like the Carpenters, and yes, we do everything here just as it would be in any radio station. Most of us are poetry lovers, and we look forward to hearing yours.

My word, McTag. I had no idea that Lennon did a version of edgar's song. I have been noticing that many performers are doing updated versions of the older tunes.

Well, I guess Letty should have some coffee and get started with our day.

3:01 in the a.m. I got gas. rather than staying in bed just farting around I'm here on wa2k. Hi taggers. Hi mz lettybetty. how come they never tell you about aging stuff like gas? I'm having a cuppa assam superb tea. In a minute I'm going out to the garage for a smoke. I know I have errands to run later this morning and I will likely be asleep on the sofa. I woke at 1:30 to pee (another aging thing I hate) when I came back to bed Sally dog was sitting on my pillow drinking the water in my bedside glass. So it goes. I should have a brandy now, I wonder if I have any brandy.

Hi dys.

Was it a Greek philosopher, or a Roman one, who said

"I fart, therefore I am"?

It's the little things. Sleep well, cowboy.

My word, folks. It seems that our dys and taggers are discussing male things. Laughing

Well, guys, let's hear a song for the both of you and our newest contributor, Eyremil.

Doobie Brothers:

Patrick simmons

Up all night I could not sleep
The whiskey that I drank was cheap
With shakin' hands I went and I lit up my last cigarette
Well the sun came, night had fled
And sleepy eyed I reached my bed
I saw you sleepy dreamin' there all covered and warm

South city midnight lady
I'm much obliged indeed
You sure have saved this man whose soul was in need
I thought there was no reason
For all these things I do
But the smile that sent out returned with you

When day has left the night behind
And shadows roll across my mind
I sometimes find myself alone out walkin' the street
Yes, and when I'm feelin' down and blue
Then all I do is think of you
And all my foolish problems seem to fade away

South city midnight lady
I'm much obliged indeed
You sure have saved this man whose soul was in need
I thought there was no reason
For all these things I do
But the smile that sent out returned with you

That is for my son as well, who sang it so sweetly.

Well people thanks for the warm welcome, as a token of thanks here's:

Nina Simone - Love Me or Leave Me

Say, love me or leave me and let me be lonely
You won't believe me but I love you only
I'd rather be lonely than happy with somebody else

You might find the night time the right time for kissing
Night-time is my time for just reminiscing
Regretting instead of forgetting with somebody else

There'll be no one unless that someone is you
I intend to be independently blue

Saaay, I want your love, don't wanna borrow
Have it today to give back tomorrow
Your love is my love
There's no love for nobody else

Say, love me or leave me and let me be lonely
You won't believe me but I love you only
I'd rather be lonely than happy with somebody else

You might find the night-time the right time for kissing
Night-time is my time for just reminiscing
Regretting instead of forgetting with somebody else

There'll be no one unless that someone is you
I intend to be independently blue

Say I want your love, don't wanna borrow
Have it today to give back tomorrow
Your love is my love
My love is your love
There's no love for nobody else
