ah, dj. You will have such fun with those TO folks.

Since BoGoWo was the first to introduce me to Diana Krall, how about a song from that fabulous vocalist:

I can't forget the night I met you
That's all I'm dreaming of
And now you call it madness
But I call it love

You made a promise, to be faithful
By all the stars up above
Now you call it madness
But I call it love

My heart is beating, it keeps repeating
For you constantly
You're all I'm needing, so I am pleading
Please come back to me

You made a plaything out of romance
And what were you thinking of
For now you call it madness
But I call it love

Well, listeners. Whatever we call it, Diana can sing it.

i'll let ms. krall convey my thoughts about this forum

'S Wonderful
Diana Krall

S' wonderful! 'S marvelous!
You should care for me!
S' awful nice! 'S paradise!
S' what I love to see!

You've made my life so glamorous
You can't blame me for feeling amorous.
Oh! 'S wonderful! 'S marvelous!
That you should care for me!

S' wonderful! S' marvelous!
That you should care for me!
S' awful nice! S' paradise!
S' what I love to see!

My dear, it's four-leaf clover time
From now on my heart's working overtime.
Oh! S' wonderful! 'S marvelous!
That you should care for me!

Thanks, dj. Love that one.

Here's another that Bo knew and passed on to me. Another Canadian, of course:

Holly Cole:

I need a love that grows
I don't want it unless I know
But with each passin hour
Someone, somehow
Will be there, ready to share

I need a love that's strong
I'm so tired of being alone
But will my lonely heart
Play the part
Of the fool again, before I begin

Foolish heart, hear me calling
Stop before you start falling
Foolish heart, heed my warning
You've been wrong before
Don't be wrong anymore

I'm feelin that feelin again
I've been playin a game I can't win
Love's knockin on the door
Of my heart once more
Think I'll let him in
Before I begin

Foolish heart, hear me calling
Stop before, you start falling
Foolish heart, heed my warning
You've been wrong before
Don't be wrong anymore
Foolish heart
Foolish, foolish heart
You've been wrong before

Foolish heart, hear me calling
Stop before you start falling
Foolish heart, heed my warning
You've been wrong before
Don't be wrong anymore
Foolish heart

Oh foolish
foolish heart
You've been wrong before

Foolish
foolish heart
Foolish heart

I hope I got the right foolish heart by Holly, listeners.

Train Song

Well I broke down in E. St. Louis
On the Kansas City line
and I drunk up all my money
that I borrowed every time
and I fell down at the derby
and now the night's black as a crow
It was a train that took me away from here
but a train can't bring me home
What made my dreams so hollow
was standing at the depot
with a steeple full of swallows
that could never ring the bell
and I come ten thousand miles away
with not one thing to show
well it was a train that took me away from here
but a train can't bring me home
I remember when I left
without bothering to pack
you know I up and left with
just the clothes I had on my back
now I'm sorry for what I've done
and I'm out here on my own
well it was a train that took me away from
here but a train can't bring me home

hingehead has reported in from down under, all fine no house damage, gardens another story
says he's gonna start cleaning up and preparing for the next one (doesn't look as big from what i've seen, but then i'm not gonna be in the middle of it)

ah, dj. Love the train song, buddy. I am so happy that we can all make connections. It shows there are still some of us you love music, poetry, and art, and who care about other countries.

The fact that hingehead is all right is just another example of the small tiny butterfly of hope that can come from a Pandora's box.

Goodnight, my dear friends.

From Letty with love.

Charro
(Words & music by Strange - Davis)
With eyes that hide the man within
You see behind the eyes of, other men
You've lived and died and come to life again
And now you stand alone at the crossroads of your mind
You've left your yesterdays behind..
But which road leads you to tomorrow?
Charro...

You've turned your back on yesterday
Betrayed a man who swore he'd make you pay
For when you left you took his pride away
You know he'll never let you break away so easily
You'll have to fight, before you're free
But how much more time can you borrow?
Charro...

Now in a single moment your past grows dim
One thought goes racing across your mind
You ride to meet the woman you stole from him
Oh no!...Charro don't go!...
Charro don't go!!...

There's something hanging, in the wind
Your past is catching up and closing in
You've been halfway to hell and back again
And now you laugh in the devil's face
with your last breath...
You'll run a race with life and death...
But will you live to see tomorrow?

Who knows the artist?

Good morning, WA2K listeners and contributors.

First let me say to edgar that the lyrics to your song, Charro, are plaintive, but I am not familiar with it, nor the artist.

Well, the skies are gray here, folks, but for some reason this Ray Charles melody is in my mind today:

Artist: Ray Charles Lyrics
Song: You Don't Know Me Lyrics

You give your hand to me
And then you say, "Hello."
And I can hardly speak,
My heart is beating so.
And anyone can tell
You think you know me well.
Well, you don't know me.
(no you don't know me)
No you don't know the one
Who dreams of you at night;
And longs to kiss your lips
And longs to hold you tight
Oh I'm just a friend.
That's all I've ever been.
Cause you don't know me.
(no you don't know me)
For I never knew the art of making love,
Though my heart aches with love for you.
Afraid and shy, I let my chance go by.
A chance that you might love me too.
(love me too)
You give your hand to me,
And then you say, "Goodbye."
I watched you walk away,
Beside the lucky guy
Oh, you'll never ever know
The one who loved you so.
Well, you don't know me
(For I never knew the art of making love, )
(Though my heart aches with love for you. )
Afraid and shy, I let my chance go by.
A chance that you might love me too.
(love me too)
Oh, you give your hand to me,
And then you say, "Goodbye."
I watched you walk away,
Beside the lucky guy
Oh, you'll never ever know
The one who loved you so.
Well, you don't know me
(you don't love me, you don't know me)

Good morning Miss Letty and radio land fans.
I just wanted to say:

I bought a pretty cool wagon and we call it a woody
Surf city, here we come
You know, it's not very cherry, it's an oldie but a goody
Surf city, here we come
Well, it ain't got a backseat or a rear window
But it still gets me where i wanna go

And we're goin' surf city, 'cause it's two to one
You know we're goin' surf city, gonna have some fun
Yeah we're goin' surf city, 'cause it's two to one
You know we're goin' surf city, gonna have some fun, now

They say they never roll the scoops, because there's always something goin'
Surf city, here we come
You know, they're either out surfin' or they got a party growin'
Surf city, here we come
Well it's two swingin' honey for every guy
And all you gotta do is just wink your eye

And we're goin' surf city, 'cause it's two to one
You know we're goin' surf city, gonna have some fun
Yeah we're goin' surf city, 'cause it's two to one
You know we're goin' surf city, gonna have some fun, now

And if my woody breaks down, i'll get somewhere as a surfer
Surf city, here we come
I'll strap my board to my back and hitch a ride in my wet-suit
Surf city, here we come
And when i get to surf city, i'll be shootin' the curl
And checkin' out the parties for surfer girls...

Good morning, Try. Beach Boys, right? Razz

Well, for all you "breakers" out there, it's the first day of spring, so surfin' is the thing.

Might as well think of the atoll.

Brian Hyland - Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini
Billboard Top Pop Hits: 1960

Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini
Brian Hyland
Written by Paul Vance and Lee Pockriss

Peaked at # 1 in 1960
Co-songwriter Paul Vance was inspired to write this song after seeing his 2-year old daughter
Paula play at the beach in her bathing suit. Later featured in the 1962 comedy film One, Two,
Three, starring Jimmy Cagney & Arlene Francis, with the Russians using the song to try to
torture
a suspected spy.

She was afraid to come out of the locker
She was as nervous as she could be
She was afraid to come out of the locker
She was afraid that somebody would see
(Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore)

It was an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today
An itsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini
So in the locker she wanted to stay
(Two, three, four, stick around we'll tell ya more)

She was afraid to come out in the open
And so a blanket around her she wore
She was afraid to come out in the open
And so she sat bundled up on the shore
(Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore)

It was an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today
An itsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini
So in the blanket she wanted to stay
(Two, three, four, stick around we'll tell ya more)

Now she's afraid to come of the water
And I wonder what she's gonna do
Now she's afraid to come out of the water
And the poor little girl's turnin' blue
(Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore)

It was an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today
An itsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini
So in the water she wanted to stay

(From the locker to the blanket)
(From the blanket to the shore)
(From the shore to the water)
Guess there isn't any more.

I don't know about you, folks, but if they locked me in a room with that thing playing, I would give 'em what they wanted. Razz
