Letty: I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well today. Sad

When you're feeling better, please tell me: Who is that lady in your Avatar?

Why, Thank you, Raggedy and Walter. It's been a while since I had a fever blister. Comes from a chickenpox virus just as shingles.(or herpes above the waiste Razz )In my case, it may be old lipstick that I used.

That lady in my avatar, sweet Raggedy, is one that I chose from the options here because it looked the most like me.

Calamity Jane tried to help me get a "real me" photo to replace the avatar that I have, but I couldn't get it to work.

And there, listeners, you have our medical report and photo shop attempt.

How about a spring song:

This version by Carly Simon

(f. loesser)

Spring will be a little late this year
A little late arriving, in my lonely world over here
For you have left me and where is our april love old
Yes you have left me and winter continues cold
As if to say that spring will be a little slow to start
A little slow reviving that music it made in my heart
Cause time heals all things, so I needn't cling to this fear
It's merely that spring will be a little late this year
Yes time heals all things so I needn't cling to this fear
It's merely that spring will be a little late this year

You live on a golf course? Does that mean they come round and cut your carpet every day? Smile

My sister-in-law suffers from shingles, I sympathise. It's an awkward thing to get rid of, a virus.

Get well soon, dear Letty!

Ah, McTag, thank you, honey, but I don't have shingles, thank God, just a fever blister.

Well, how about a Peggy Lee song for all of you nice people here:

Never know how much I love you
Never know how much I care
When you put your arms around me
I get a fever that's so hard to bear
You give me fever (you give me fever) when you kiss me
Fever when you hold me tight (you give me fever)
Fever ... in the mornin'
Fever all through the night

Sun lights up the day time
Moon lights up the night
I light up when you call my name
'cause I know you're gonna treat me right
You give me fever (you give me fever) when you kiss me
Fever when you hold me tight (you give me fever)
Fever ... in the mornin'
Fever all through the night (WOW!!)

You lie in gentle sleep beside me
I hear your warm and rhythmic breathing
I take your hand and hold it tightly
Listen, can you not hear our young hearts beating
I kiss the sleep from your eyes
Your smile is sweeter than the morning
And here it comes

(CHORUS)
Can you feel it baby
Can you feel it, here it comes
Feel it, Feel it
Fire, Fire
Something's burning
Something's burning
Something's burning
And I think it's love.

And now the sun is burning brightly
We lie in love so close together
I get the feeling deep inside me
My love for you will burn forever

I'D CUT MY HAND TO TOUCH YOUR FACE
I cup my hands to touch your face

And once again I feel your fire
And here it comes

(CHORUS)

And I think it's love, love
And I think it's love.
And I think it's love, love
And I think it's love.
And I think it's love, love
And I think it's love.

I cannot rest until I know who that lady in your Avatar is, Letty. She looks a lot like Ursula Andress to me. Very Happy

Raggedy, you funny thing, I won't rest until I know who that spotted pup is. <smile>

Well, folks. Guess I had better run some errands. Will be back in our little studio in a thrice.

I thought Letty's avatar was of a bust of some figure of antiquity.

Good heavens. Okay, I'll admit it. I am a bust of antiquity. She, who must be obeyed. Didn't Ursula do a remake of that? J Ryder Haggard would not approve. Razz

Ozymandias
by Percy Bysshe Shelley
I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look upon my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Some of my students thought "trunkless" meant without swimming trunks. <smile>

Aha. Now I can rest. Thank you. I thought it was from that one with Laurence Olivier about the Greek Gods, (I can't remember the name), but:

That's it, Raggedy, and the Greek God movie was Clash of the Titans, I think.

Trunkless legs, ha ha.

I wonder why we call them swimming "trunks" anyway?

And, isn't it amazing how much Ursula nowadays, from Letty's photo, looks like the avatar sketch of "She Who Must Be Obeyed"?

My goodness, McTag. I thought you Brits called them swimming costumes. <smile>

Let's do this one again, folks:

Once I went in swimming where there were no women,
Or no men to see.
Bathing suits were loathing,
So I took my clothing,
Off behind a tree.

Stepped into the water,
Just like pharoah's daughter
Stepped into the Nile.
Someone saw me there and stole
My underwear and left me with a smile.
