Just thought I'd mention that "Now Is The Hour" is a Maori farewell song. I think we talked about that on the station last year.
And to add to the confusion, "Why Should I Care?" sung by Diana Krall in "True Crime" has also been recorded by Toni Braxton.

Ah, Raggedy, ain't nothing wrong with your RNA, honey. Perhaps that is where the confusion lies then, PA. Diana Krall and Toni Braxton may well sound very much alike.
I do remember reporting hearing Toni for the first time on my car radio.
Well, folks, if anyone can find the lyrics to Toni singing Meanwhile, I would appreciate a call in or letter.

She walks in and I'm suddenly a hero
I'm taken in my hopes begin to rise
Look at me can't you tell I'd be so
Thrilled to see the message in your eyes
You make it seem I'm so close to my dream
And then suddenly it's all there
Suddenly the wheels are in motion
And I, I'm ready to sail any ocean
Suddenly I don't need the answers
Cos I, I'm ready to take all my chances with you
How can I feel you're all that matters
I'd rely on anything you say
I'll take care that no illusions shatter
If you dare to say what you should say
You make it seem I'm so close to my dream
And then suddenly it's all there
Suddenly the wheels are in motion
And I, I'm ready to sail any ocean
Suddenly I don't need the answers
Cos I, I'm ready to take all my chances with you
Why do I feel so alive when you're near
There's no way any hurt can get thru
Longing to spend every moment of the day with you
Suddenly the wheels are in motion
And I, I'm ready to sail any ocean
Suddenly I don't need the answers
Cos I, I'm ready to take all my chances with you

Jojo was a man who thought he was a loner
But he knew it wouldn't last.
Jojo left his home in tucson, arizona
For some california grass.
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged.
Get back jojo. go home
Get back, get back.
Back to where you once belonged
Get back, get back.
Back to where you once belonged.
Get back jo.
Sweet loretta martin thought she was a woman
But she was another man
All the girls around her say she's got it coming
But she gets it while she can
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged.
Get back loretta. go home
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged.
Get back loretta
Your mother's waiting for you
Wearing her high-heel shoes
And her low-neck sweater
Get on home loretta
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged.
Ehem, only want to say that I'm just back

and a reply to shari's lovely song, folks:
He's ready, too:
Barry Manilow
Ready To Take A Chance Again
You remind me I live in a shell,
Safe from the past,
and doing' okay,
but not very well.
No jolts, no surprises,
No crisis arises:
My life goes along as it should,
it's all very nice,
but not very good.
And I'm Ready To Take A Chance Again,
Ready to put my love on the line with you.
Been living with nothing to show for it;
You get what you get when you go for it,
And I'm Ready To Take Chance Again with you.
When she left me in all my despair,
I just held on,
My hopes were all gone.
Then I found you there.
And I'm Ready To Take A Chance Again,
Ready To Take A Chance Again with you,
With you.

Oh, my word, folks. Walter just "got back". Great to see you safe and sound and singing The Beatle song, Germany. Didn't they do that in the German language?(you know, the one Mark Twain decried. )

Here's an oldie inspired by our navigator:
It Takes a Worried Man Lyrics
Van Morrison
(Traditional)
Oh it takes a worried man, sing a worried song
Takes a worried man, come sing a little worried song
Well it takes a worried man to sing a worried song
I'm worried now, won't be worried long
I went down to the riverside and I laid me down to sleep
Went down to the riverside, laid me down to sleep, Lord
A-well I went down to the riverside, laid me down to sleep
When I woke up there were shackles on both-a my feet
Hit it!
(Chorus)
It takes a worried man, to sing a worried song
It takes a worried man (come) to sing a worried song
Yeah, it takes a worried man, yeah, to sing a worried song
I'm worried now but I won't be worried long
Worry for me!
(Instrumental)
I said, "Judge (judge) judge, what's a-gonna be my fine?"
I said, "Judge (judge) judge (judge) tell me what's gonna be my fine?
I said, "Judge (judge) judge (judge) tell me what's gonna be my fine?
He said, "Twenty-one years (oh) on that old Rock Island Line
Oh well it takes a worried man, to sing a worried song
Takes a worried man, to sing a worried song
Yeah, it takes a worried man, to sing a worried song
I'm worried now, but I won't be worried long
Sing it one more time!
It takes a worried man, to sing a worried song
It takes a worried man, to sing a worried song, my Lord
It takes a worried man, to sing a worried song,
I'm worried now but I won't be worried long.
There's a song within a song in that one, folks. Can you guess what it is?

My guess is...
SIMON WEBBE LYRICS
No Worries
(I just know your life's gonna change)
(Gonna get a little better)
(Moving on the darkest day)
(I just know your life's gonna change)
(Gonna get a little further)
(Right up until the feeling fades)
So, is this how it goes,
Think you've come this far,
and then it'll show,
but that aint so, oh no,
you don't see where you are,
and if you don't wanna look back
you'll never know,
cuz you think that you've been here
just treading water
waiting in the wings for the show to begin
but i always see you searching
and you try that bit harder
getting closer, oh yeah
to the life you're imagining
[Chorus]
(I just know your life's gonna change)
maybe not today, maybe not today,
but some day soon you'll be alright,
(I just know your life's gonna change)
turn the other way, turn the other way,
feels like luck is on your side,
(Just wanna live)
no worries, no worries,
(Don't wanna die)
no worries, no worries,
sing for me, sing for me,
we all need somebody,
(yeah you can sink)
no worries, no worries,
(or you can swim)
no worries, no worries,
sing for me, sing for me,
we all need somebody,
So, baby keep drifiting on
getting there aint just selfless wasted time
seek and find, yeah
you're not that far from
what you hoped and wished for
all along,
cuz you think that you've been there,
just treading water
waiting in the wings for the show to begin
but i always see you searching
and you try that bit harder
getting closer, oh yeah
to the life you're imagining
[Repeat Chorus]
I just know your life's gonna change
sing for me, sing for me,
we all need somebody...

Well, tryagain, that song sums up my life, I think, but the song encased in a song to which I referred was, "The Rock Island Line."
These are a shortened version of the traditional lyrics, folks:
Chorus:
Rock Island Line is a mighty fine road
Rock Island Line is the road to ride
Rock Island Line is a mighty fine road
If you're gonna ride it, got to ride it like you find it
Get your ticket at the station for the Rock Island Line
I may be right, I may be wrong
Bet you'll miss me when I'm gone
Chorus
Sun goes up, sun goes down
Time to leave this lonesome town
Chorus

This is an interesting news item, listeners, and requires some thought:
Cheating on Taxes Becomes Bigger Taboo By MARY DALRYMPLE, AP Tax Writer
51 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - If you knew your neighbors had cheated on their taxes, should you turn them in? More than 3 out of 5 people surveyed by the IRS Oversight Board said you should.
The board, which provides independent oversight and advice for the Internal Revenue Service, found 62 percent of people surveyed completely or mostly agreed that "it is everyone's personal responsibility to report anyone who cheats on their taxes."
That's more than the year before, when a slim majority of 53 percent agreed with that view.
The board didn't delve too much deeper.
UVA had an honor system. Should you see someone cheating, it was a matter of honor to report them. When I took tests or whatever. I never looked to the right or left of me, because I don't believe that honor involves being a snitch. This only applies to a money situation, folks, not to more serious situations.
How do you feel about this, folks?

I'm So Worried
Monty Python
I'm so worried about what's happening today,
In the Middle East, you know.
And I'm so worried about the baggage retrieval
System they've got at Heathrow.
I'm so worried about the fashoins today,
I don't think they're good for your feet.
And I'm so worried about the shows on TV
That sometimes they want to repeat.
I'm so worried about what's happening today,
In the Middle East, you know.
And I'm so worried about the baggage retrieval
System they've got at Heathrow.
I'm so worried about my hair falling out,
And the state of the world today.
And I'm so worried about being so full of doubt
About everything anyway.
I'm so worried about modern technology,
I'm so worried about all the things
That they dump in the sea.
I'm so worried about it, worried about it,
Worried, worried, worried.
I'm so worried about everything that can go wrong.
I'm so worried about whether people like this song.
I'm so worried about this very next verse,
It isn't the best that I've got.
And I'm so worried about whether I should go on
Or whether I shouldn't just stop.
(long pause)
I'm so worried about whether I ought to have stopped.
And I'm so worried because it's the sort of thing I ought to know.
And I'm so worried about the baggage retrieval
System they've got at Heathrow.
I'm so worried about whether I should have stopped then,
I'm so worried that I'm driving everyone round the bend.
And I'm so worried about the baggage retrieval
System they've got at Heathrow.

dj, I swear, Canada, That is one great tongue in cheek song, but what else should we expect from Monty Python?
I remember telling someone once that I was afraid that if I DID NOT worry, something would happen.
Let's take a look at this bit of light sarcasm, folks:
Amadeus Wolfgang Mozart. Now there's a name for a genius. I'm sure there are hundreds and thousands of things we could learn about genius from Mozart. But I've selected one and it's a dandy. You'll love it!
Back in the early 1990's, a group of psychologists took an interest in Mozart's mail. They didn't have to steam open any envelopes or anything like that. After all he'd been dead for 200 years, so hopefully the mail had long since been delivered, read, digested, filed and housed in a museum! But I digress. What those psychologists found in reading 600 surviving letters that Mozart wrote is that he was psychotic!
Psychotic?
Yep. Positively psychotic.
No. Wait. He was psychotically positive! Also described as pathologically optimistic!
Steady on! A psychotic is someone who suffers from a mental disorder that affects their whole personality. Pathology is the study of disease. These university shrinks were almost implying that Mozart had something wrong with him. That his was a strange kind of mental disease that put a positive spin on everything that happened to him.
Phooey! Sign me up for some of that! I'll gladly take a mental disorder that allows you to see the good in everything you do. Isn't that what every success book since the Bible has suggested?
Fortunately wiser heads have come to the defence of Mr Mozart. That archdeacon of Mind Development, Tony Buzan, has seen the value and genius in Mozart's attitude and named it Amadeity - a psychology of appropriate positivity.

Ah, hamburger. I don't believe Brahms needs any introduction. I recall having heard his lullaby. <smile>
Well, my goodness, listeners. I can't believe old blue eyes did this one:
Frank Sinatra
Lullaby and good night, with roses bestride,
With lilies bedecked. 'neath Baby's sweet bed.
May thou sleep, may thou rest, may thy slumber be blest.
May thou sleep, may thou rest, may thy slumber be blest.
Lullaby and good night, thy mother's delight.
Bright angels around, my darling, shall guard.
They will guide thee from harm, thou art safe in my arms.
They will guide thee from harm, thou art safe in my arms.
(and these are the original words of Brahms in German)
Guten Abend, gut' nacht! Mit Rosen bedacht,
Mit Nglein besteckt schl乸f unter die Deck'!
Morgen Fr乭, wenn Got will, wirst du wieder geweckt,
Morgen Fr乭, wenn Got will, wirst du wieder geweckt,
Guten Abend, gut' nacht! Von Englein bewacht,
Die zeigen in Traum, dir Christkindlein's baum.
Schlaf' num selig und suss, schau' in Traum's Paradies,
Schlaf' num selig und suss, schau' in Traum's Paradies.
(without poetic embellishments, this is the direct translationof Brahms)
Good evening, good night, covered with roses,
With tiny fingernails hidden, slipping under the blankets,
Tomorrow morning, if God wills, you will wake again.
Tomorrow morning, if God wills, you will wake again.
God evening, good night, watched over by tiny angels,
Who show the little Christ Child's tree in dreams,
Sleep now, blessed and sweet, look at dream's paradise.
Sleep now, blessed and sweet, look at dream's paradise.

here is a sketch of the house where johannes was born (the house is no longer standing).
it was in the 'speckstrasse' (literally : bacon street) where brahms parents lived in a two room flat .
i'm sure that when little johannes was born , nobody realized that some day he would be one of germany's greatest composers . hbg
you'll notice that each floor would be extended a few inches farther out over the street than the previous floor . since houses were taxed by the ground taken up, landlords 'built out into the streets " to gain more space while keeping the taxes down . since the houses on the opposite side of the street would be built in a similar fashion , very little daylight would reach the street and the lower floors .

here is a picture of a typical street where brahms would have lived .
i remember those streets and houses well from my walks to school . they stood until the early 1940's and were destroyed during the war .
there is only one such street that survived the war , it now forms part of a museum distrct . hbg

Artist: Lyrics
Song: Goodnight, My Someone Lyrics
Goodnight, my someone,
Goodnight, my love,
Sleep tight, my someone,
Sleep tight, my love,
Our star is shining it's brightest light
For goodnight, my love, for goodnight.
Sweet dreams be yours, dear,
If dreams there be
Sweet dreams to carry you close to me.
I wish they may and I wish they might
Now goodnight, my someone, goodnight
True love can be whispered from heart to heart
When lovers are parted they say
But I must depend on a wish and a star
As long as my heart doesn't know who you are.
Sweet dreams be yours dear,
If dreams there be
Sweet dreams to carry you close to me.
I wish they may and I wish they might
Now goodnight, my someone, goodnight.
Goodnight,
Goodnight.
Sweet dreams.

Lovely, hamburger. and I like to think my parents thought that I would be someone special, but of course we know your daughter is.
try, hold that song, because it's perfect for my goodnight to you all, and is so sweet. Thank you, my dear cyber friend.
