Hey, Rex. People do what they do either out of guilt, fervor, or strong belief. To me, politics and music don't mix.
As for animal magnetism and the hypnosis man, Mesmer. Learned all about that stuff when I was a kid and became interested in Christian Science.

and speaking of Greeks, folks:
Greek Lawmakers Lift Ban on Cremation Wed Mar 1, 10:57 AM ET
ATHENS, Greece - Greek lawmakers on Wednesday approved new legislation to lift a standing ban on cremation of the dead, parliamentary officials said.
The law, which human rights groups have long demanded, stressed that cremation would not be available for Orthodox Christians, in a bid to mollify the country's powerful Orthodox Church.
Church of Greece officials fiercely oppose cremation as an option for believers, arguing that Orthodox traditions only allow burial.
A predominantly Christian Orthodox country, Greece has small populations of Catholics, Protestants and Muslims.
Greece has no cremation facilities, and Greeks who wish to have their loved ones cremated are forced to send the bodies abroad.
The law was drafted by nine deputies from the governing conservatives, the main opposition Socialists and the small Synaspismos coalition.

My initial feeling to start the day,Letty, is not a good one:
I'm alone, hiding in the dark,
I'm looking for a life to come and rescue me,
I sleep, I rise, hear your denies, endlessly inside,
It's crazy but, sometimes I feel like,
I wanna' to run away, sometimes I feel like,
I've gotta' get away, one day you will see,
Another side of me, my life I command,
It's not the way that you planned
Leave me alone leave me alone
Leave me alone
Out on my own out on my own
Leave me alone
What do you want, from me? Do you dream of a life,
Your life through me, myself, my time, in one we unite,
I don't ever want to be that girl, you want it to be
Sometimes I feel like
I wanna' to run away
Sometimes I feel like
I've gotta' get away
One day you will see
Another side of me
My life I command
It's not the way that you planned
Leave me alone leave me alone
Leave me alone
Out on my own out on my own
Leave me alone, yeah!
One day you will see, another side of me,
My life I command, It's not the way,
It's not the way that you planned,
Leave me alone leave me alone
Leave me alone
Out on my own out on my own
Leave me alone,
Leave me alone leave me alone Leave me alone
Out on my own out on my own
Leave me alone,
Leave me alone leave me alone
Leave me alone
Out on my own out on my own
Leave me alone,

shari, honey. This isn't a person on this cyber radio station who hasn't felt
what you and your song imply.
Today, my song is one that comes and goes over the years:
I fall in love too easily,
I fall in love too fast,
I fall in love too terribly hard,
For love to ever last.
My heart should be well schooled,
'Cause I've been fooled in the past,
Yet I fall in love too easily,
I fall in love too fast.
All done in a minor key, as well. <smile>
Coming up later, folks, the dedication segment of our programming.

Sure, shari. We are sticking as close to the real format of a radio station as is possible. I have been delegated as the program director. <smile>
This one is for Francis, Walter, and Dutchy:
A7 D A7 D
Oh me, oh my, oh you; I don't know what to do
G D G D
Hallelujah, the question is peculiar
A7 D
It's got me on the go
A7 D
I'd give a lot of dough
E7 A
If someone here would tell me is it yes or is it no
A7 D A7
CHORUS: Does the spearmint lose its flavor on the bedpost over night?
A7 D D7
If you chew it in the morning will it be too hard to bite
G A7 D G
Can't you see I'm going crazy, won't somebody put me right
D E7 A7 D
Does the spearmint lose its flavor on the bedpost over night?
The nation rose as one, and sent its fav'rite son
To the White House, this mighty country's lighthouse
He saw the President; he said that "I've been sent
To solve the burning question that involves the continent."
CHORUS: Does the spearmint lose its flavor on the bedpost over night?
If you pull it out like rubber will it snap right back and bite?
If you paste it on the left side will you find it on the right?
Does the spearmint lose its flavor on the bedpost over night?
Here comes the blushing bride; the "boob" right by her side
To the altar, as steady as Gibraltar
The bridegroom has the ring; it's such a pretty thing
He puts it on her finger and the choir begins to sing
CHORUS: Does the spearmint lose its flavor on the bedpost over night?
Would you use it on your collar when your button's not in sight?
Put your hand beneath your seat and you will find it there all right
Does the spearmint lose its flavor on the bedpost over night?
See if anyone can figure that one out.

and wouldn't you know it, listeners? Look at this bit of news from the world of wine:
French winemakers mull screw cap vs. cork 2 hours, 27 minutes ago
BORDEAUX, France (AFP) - To lovers of fine wine there is no more satisfying sound then the pop of a cork as a favourite vintage is opened. The twist of a screw cap just doesn't carry the same hint of promise.
But the metal top is moving up market.
Last month Andre Lurton, a Bordeaux company producing four million bottles of wine a year in the six-to 25-euro (seven to 29 dollars) price range, announced it is to fit all its white wines with screw caps, and may soon offer a red in the same style.
"We are convinced about screw caps. They are better, certainly for white wine," said Veronique Bouffard, communications manager at Andre Lurton.
But the company faces an uphill battle to convince a sceptical public both here and abroad that wine in a screwtop bottle is not a cheap, nasty beverage.
The image problem is such that in France, Germany and Belgium, Lurton will continue to offer wines with traditional cork stoppers.
Okay. Perhaps that will entice our European friends to check in. <smile> Not to mention our Auzzie friend via the Netherlands.

More breaking news and more synchronicity:
Boy, 12, Sticks Gum on $1.5M Painting Tue Feb 28, 7:40 PM ET
DETROIT - A 12-year-old visitor to the Detroit Institute of Arts stuck a wad of gum to a $1.5 million painting, leaving a stain the size of a quarter, officials say.
The boy was part of a school group from Holly that visited the museum on Friday, officials say. They say he took a piece of Wrigley's Extra Polar Ice gum out of his mouth and stuck it on Helen Frankenthaler's "The Bay," an abstract painting from 1963.
The museum acquired the work in 1965 and says it is worth about $1.5 million.
The gum stuck to the painting's lower left corner and did not adhere to the fiber of the canvas, officials told the Detroit Free Press. But it left a chemical residue about the size of a quarter, said Becky Hart, assistant curator of contemporary art.
The museum's conservation department is researching the chemicals in the gum to decide which solvent to use to clean it. The museum hopes to make the repair in two weeks and will keep "The Bay" on display in the meantime, she said.
"Our expectation is that the painting is going to be fine," Hart said.

Heh! Heh! hamburger. I'll start:
Going once--going twice--SOLD to that gentleman with the dog. <smile>
Here's the explanation, folks. On the Where Am I thread, we got a look at The Wrigley Building, hence all the gum stuff.
Cannot find a reproduction of The Bay. (no, not eBay) so maybe that kid knew what he was doing.
How about a song, now:
(SITTIN' ON) THE DOCK OF THE BAY
- written by Otis Redding and Steve Cropper
- lyrics as recorded by Otis Redding December 7, 1967, just three
days before his death in a plane crash outside Madison, Wisconsin
- #1 for 4 weeks in 1968
Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the 'Frisco bay
'Cause I've had nothing to live for
And look like nothin's gonna come my way
So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes
Sittin' here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home
Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
(whistle)

What a coincidence Letty, I was just gonna play THE DOCK OF THE BAY.
I know the station has a policy of not repeating the same record twice in the same day, so
When The Night Comes Lyrics
by Joe Cocker
Hold on
I'll be back for you
It won't be long
But for now there's something else
That's calling me
So take me down a lonesome road
Point me west and let me go
That suitcase weighs me down
With memories
I just wanna be the one you run to
I just wanna be the one you come to
I just wanna be there for someone
When the night comes
Let's put all the cares behind us
And go where they'll never find us
I just wanna be there beside you
When the night comes
When the night comes
Two spirits in the night
That can leave before the morning light
When there's nothing left to lose
And nothing left to fear
So meet me on the edge of town
Won't keep you waiting I'll be 'round
Then you and I
We'll just roll right out of here
I just wanna be the one you run to
I just wanna be the one you come to
I just wanna be there for someone
When the night comes
Let's put all the cares behind us
And go where they'll never find us
I just wanna be there beside you
When the night comes
When the night comes
I know there'll be a time for you
Just take my hand and run away
Think of all the pieces of the shattered dream
We're gonna make it out some day
We'll be coming back
Coming back to stay
When the night comes
I wanna be the one you run to
When the night comes
To be the one you'd come to
I wanna be the one you run to
Ooh

Ah, try. Lovely, buddy. That song reminds me of another:
Shall we listen, folks?
Who Can I Turn To
(From the album "YOU DON'T HAVE TO SAY YOU LOVE")
Who can I turn to
When nobody needs me?
My heart wants to know
And so I must go
Where destiny leads me
With no star to guide me
And no-one beside me
I'll go on my way
And after the day
The darkness will hide me
And maybe tomorrow
I'll find what I'm after
I'll throw off my sorrow
Beg, steal or borrow
My share of laughter
With you I could learn to
With you on a new day
But who can I turn to if you turn away?
Oh, oh, yeah
With no star to guide me
And nobody beside me
I'll go on my way and after the day
The darkness will hide me
And maybe tomorrow
I'm gonna find what I'm after
I'll throw off my sorrow
Beg, steal or borrow
My share of laughter
With you I could learn to
Oh, with you on a new day
But who can I turn to if you turn away?
That version by Dusty Springfield

Amen to that.
Dusty Springfield:
(dominic frontiere / norman gimbel)
From the soundtrack of the stunt man
Out of nowhere into sight
Out of darkness into light
You come running pushing time
Out of reason
Out of rhyme
Bits and pieces of your past
Cling like shadows to your heels
And your heart is learning fast
How it feels
With your secrets in your eyes
And your feelings in disguise
You come running in your fright
Seeking shelter from the night
And you search each passing face
For a sign someone could care
But they rush by in their race
To nowhere
And you watch and wonder where you belong
And the crowd, it moves and takes you along
And the colours splash and repaint your sky
And reality is yours to deny
And you look for someone your arms can hold
Who will let you tell what begs to be told
Then you ask yourself what good are your dreams?
In a world where nothing is what it seems
Bits and pieces of your past
Chill your soul like winter rain
But the time will come at last
When a love will ease your pain
If you let me I will try
If you let me I'll be near
If you let me when you cry
I will hear
Oh, oh and you watch and wonder where you belong
And the crowd, it moves and takes you along
And the colours splash and repaint your sky
And reality is yours to deny
And you look for someone your arms can hold
Who will let you tell what begs to be told
And you ask yourself what good are your dreams?
In a world where nothing is what it seems
And you watch and wonder where you belong
And the crowd, it moves and takes you along
And the colours splash and repaint your sky
And reality is yours to deny
And you look for someone that your arms can hold

It's getting dark here, and we all know, listeners. how the night changes the mood.
Try, I especially liked:
"....Out of nowhere into sight
Out of darkness into light
You come running pushing time
Out of reason
Out of rhyme
Bits and pieces of your past
Cling like shadows to your heels
And your heart is learning fast
How it feels...."
How about one from a classic.
Full moon and empty arms
The moon is there for us to share
But where are you?
A night like this could weave a memory
And every kiss could start a dream for two
Full moon and empty arms
Tonight I'll use the magic moon to wish upon
And next full moon if my one wish comes true
My empty arms will be filled with you.
Can anyone here guess the classical composer of that one? We've done it before.

Moondance
Van Morrison
Well, it's a marvelous night for a Moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
'Neath the cover of October skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And I'm trying to please to the calling
Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
You know the night's magic seems to whisper and hush
You know soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush
Chorus:
Can I just have one more Moondance with you, my love
Can I just make some more romance with a-you, my love
Well, I wanna make love to you tonight
I can't wait 'til the morning has come
And I know that the time is just right
And straight into my arms you will run
And when you come my heart will be waiting
To make sure that you're never alone
There and then all my dreams will come true, dear
There and then I will make you my own
And every time I touch you, you just tremble inside
And I know how much you want me that you can't hide
Chorus
Repeat 1st Verse
(Chorus)
One more Moondance with you in the moonlight
On a magic night
La, la, la, la in the moonlight
On a magic night
Can't I just have one more moondance with you my love

YOU WILL BE MY MUSIC
Frank Sinatra
(Joe Raposo)
- (From the album: Ol' Blue Eyes Is Back
Originally released: October, 1973)
When all the songs are out of tune,
And all the rhymes ring so untrue;
When I don't find the words to say -
The thoughts I long to bring to you;
When I hear lonely singers
Who are just as lost as me -
Making noise, not melody:
You will be my music.
You will be song.
You will be my music.
I can't wait any longer if I'm wrong.
I'll never find the song to tell me
All the things I need to say.
And I'm afraid as time goes by
That someday soon you'll go away.
And I'll be lost in trying
For songs I'll never sing.
Wanting you is everything:
You will be my music.
You will be song.
You will be my music.
I can't wait any longer if I'm wrong.
I can't wait any longer for my song.
Written by former Louisiana State Governor Jimmie Davis and Charles Mitchell; Copyright 1940 and 1977 by Peer International Corporation. This song is one of two official songs for the State of Louisiana.
You Are My Sunshine
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away
The other nite, dear,
As I lay sleeping
I dreamed I held you in my arms.
When I awoke, dear,
I was mistaken
And I hung my head and cried.
You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.
I'll always love you
And make you happy
If you will only say the same
But if you leave me
To love another
You'll regret it all some day;
You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.
You told me once, dear
You really loved me
And no one else could come between
But now you've left me
And love another
You have shattered all my dreams;
You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.
Louisiana my Louisiana
the place where I was borne.
White fields of cotton
-- green fields clover,
the best fishing
and long tall corn;
You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.
Crawfish gumbo and jambalaya
the biggest shrimp and sugar cane,
the finest oysters
and sweet strawberries
from Toledo Bend to New Orleans;
You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.
