and if McTag knows anything of the Beach Boys. <smile>
I know that the Beach Boys sang a lot about surfing, but never actually did any.
Which reminds me of
All you pretty women, stand right in line
I'm gonna make love to you, baby,
In an hour's time.....
Bob, I think most of us here know almost all of your famous folks, Boston. I am certain our Raggedy will be here with comments and a picture for our bulletin board
Well, McTag, when PA arrives, there will be two of us. <smile>
Artist: Grover Washington, Jr. & Bill Withers Lyrics
Song: Just the Two of Us Lyrics
I see the crystal raindrops fall
And see the beauty of it all
Is when the sun comes shining through
To make those rainbows in my mind
When I think of you some time
And I want to spend some time with you
Just the two of us
We can make it if we try
Just the two of us
Just the two of us
Building castles in the sky
Just the two of us
You and I
We look for love, no time for tears
Wasted water's all that is
And it don't make no flowers grow
Good things might come to those who wait
Not to those who wait too late
We got to go for all we know
Just the two of us
We can make it if we try
Just the two of us
Just the two of us
Building castles in the sky
Just the two of us
You and I
I hear the crystal raindrops fall
On the window down the hall
And it becomes the morning dew
Darling, when the morning comes
And I see the morning sun
I want to be the one with you
Just the two of us
We can make it if we try
Just the two of us
Just the two of us
Building big castles way on high
Just the two of us
You and I

The Beach Boys ran a sand castle construction company & a sea tide management consultancy called The King Canute Eccentrics. It failed when Mr. B Wilson, the CEO lost his magic touch & the good vibrations seized up
Aha, listeners. I figured the sound of the surf would bring our London friend into the mix.
John, I must admit that I didn't know that about the boys. I do recall one of them having some connection with Charles Manson, however, and perhaps involved with the Beatles White album called Helter Skelter.
Song for that odd "Family":
We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing
Everyone can see we're together
As we walk on by
(FLY!) and we fly just like birds of a feather
I won't tell no lie
(ALL!) all of the people around us they say
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the record
We're giving love in a family dose
We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing
We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing
Living life is fun and we've just begun
To get our share of the world's delights
(HIGH!) high hopes we have for the future
And our goal's in sight
(WE!) no we don't get depressed
Here's what we call our golden rule
Have faith in you and the things you do
You won't go wrong
This is our family Jewel
We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing
We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing.

Odd news, folks:
And look at what this guy stole.. 1 hour, 11 minutes ago
BERLIN (Reuters) - A bungling German thief left a Hansel and Gretel-style trail of feathers which led police from the crime scene to his front door, authorities said Tuesday.
Police in the western city of Bochum said the man ripped open his quilted jacket as he broke into a shop to steal a karaoke set and did not notice it was leaking feathers all the way home. A witness saw the break-in and quickly told police.
"Luckily they were able to act before the next story was played out -- "Gone with the Wind," said Bochum police spokesman Frank Plewka. "All they had to do was follow the feathers."
The 36-year-old was astonished when police came knocking at his door shortly afterwards to arrest him.
You could say it was a very ticklish situation, but I wouldn't. Has he contracted bird flu ???????
Now you woldn't catch Walter playing silly games like that.
McTag's slightly mistaken bout the Beach Boys--Dennis Wilson, the drummer of the band, was actually a surfer. twas also he who knew Manson.

Good afternoon.
Here you go, Letty. One of several theories:
The United States minted five-cent pieces from the earliest days of the Union, but they were not known as nickels until 1866, because in that year the first five-cent coins containing nickel were minted. The practice of making commemorative tokens out of wood as centennial souvenirs developed and we assume that wooden nickels actually were made during the nineteenth century for this purpose. Frequently such coins are accepted as legal tender while the celebration is in progress, but of course they cease to have value when the show is over. So the expression 'Don't take any wooden nickels' became the popular equivalent of 'Don't be a sucker.'." From "Morris Dictionary of Word and Phrase Origins" by William and Mary Morris (HarperCollins, New York, 1977, 1988).
And here's a picture of a birthday celeb we've just got to have on the station's bulletin board:
Thanks, Mr. Turtle, for setting Manchester straight.
Hey, OAK. Walter hasn't been here for a couple of days. Maybe he has bird flu.
Aha! Raggedy has not only provided us with some much needed etymology about the wooden nickles, but brought us a memory of Cary.
Look at that cleft chin. Love it! I'm the only one in my family that inherited my dad's "dimple" in the chin, perhaps we are kin.
and this picture, folks, matches one of the hawk's bio's. Which one:
Hi hi, keep my seat warm, it's nosebag time. Irons at the ready & all the coutrements, salt pepper & a bottle of brown rockin' . We are having a "full english breakfast" for dinner tonite. Yummy yummy. See ya when I've inwardly digested.
Eat hearty, matey, but watch that acid reflux.
You'll say, we've got nothing in common,
No common ground to start from,
And we're falling apart,
You'll say, the world has come between us,
Our lives have come between us,
Still I know you just don't care.
And I said, "What about 'Breakfast at Tiffany's?'"
She said, "I think I remember the film,
And as I recall, I think, we both kind of liked it."
And I said, "Well that's, the one thing we've got."
I see you, the only one who knew me,
And now your eyes see through me,
I guess I was wrong,
So what now? It's plain to see we're over,
And I hate when things are over,
When so much is left undone.
(chorus)
You'll say, that we've got nothin in common,
No common ground to start from,
And we're falling apart,
You'll say the world has come between us,
Our lives have come between us,
Still I know you just don't care.
(chorus)
Oooooo
And I said, "What about 'Breakfast at Tiffany's?'"
She said, "I think I, remember that film,
And, as I recall, I think, we both kind of liked it,"
And I said, "Well that's, the one thing we got."
And I said, "What about 'Breakfast at Tiffany's?'"
She said, "I think I, remember that film,

And I said, "Well that's, the one thing we got."
one turn deserves another, so a tidbit on Surfin' USA by the Beach Boys:
The first pressings of this 1963 release listed Brian Wilson and Mike Love as writers. But Chuck Berry felt "Surfin' USA" was a ripoff of his "Sweet Little Sixteen" and threatened a lawsuit. Consequently, all future pressings listed Berry as sole writer.
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5603410/
actually, Berry should be listed as co-writer, as i doubt he wrote the lyrics. but he most definitely wrote the melody, and the lyrics were kind of a variation of his lyrics.
Hey, there's our Walter, folks. I liked Moon River, Germany. Thanks for that reminder. You feelin' all right?
I'm fine, thanks for asking (nobody else does  )!
Ah, we all love our Walter. <smile>
Hey, Yit. You are a great research artist, for a turtle.
Well, folks. I have stuff to do, so I'll be back later.
This is cyber space, WA2K radio.
big football game in manchester tonite, it's showing live on tv, BBC 1 @ 7-30
so will MacT put up the barricades, will Walter be able to see the game in Germany. I'll watch it just to see if the underdogs, Burton Albion, can whack mighty Manchester United.
should be good for a larf
McT is City (3:1 hehe!!!), Walter can only watch BBC Prime ("the international recyling channel") and BBC World.
My word, listeners. What is it about men and sports?
Hmmm. I had hoped that our Francis would identify that picture, but I suppose he is busy--busy--busy--.
When I went in to my favorite little stop and shop place today. I met a young man from India who had only been in this country for two months, and he was a cousin of the owner. Needless to say, he was homesick. I told him that I knew several people who had recently visited his country, and he mentioned that the British did Not like black people. I then asked if he meant people of color and he nodded. I smiled and told him that he would come to love America, but to stay away from Disney World. (I didn't really) just kiddin John.
Actually, folks, he did say that he really liked the American people.
This is for our Walter:
Moon River
Written By Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini in 1961
Included in the film "Breakfast At Tiffany's"
Two versions of the song charted in 1961, by Mancini and by Jerry Butler
Both versions hit #11, within one month of each other
Most popular vocal version never charted, performed by Andy Williams, also in 1961
Moon river, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style, some day.
Old dream maker, you heart breaker,
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way.
Two drifters, off to see the world,
There's such a lot of world, to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end,
Waitin' 'round the bend,
My Huckleberry friend, moon river,
And me
