Well, listeners, I see that we're back on the air, thanks to the diligence of the Craven hamster.

Ah, BBB. Thank you, dear. I like to think of us as Veteran members.<smile>

Oh sweet little hampster. Smooch. Very Happy

This is dedicated to Letty:
Bridge Over Troubled Water
~ Simon & Garfunkel
by Paul Simon

When you're weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all;
I'm on your side. When times get rough
And friends just can't be found,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.

When you're down and out,
When you're on the street,
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you.
I'll take your part.
When darkness comes
And pain is all around,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.

Sail on silvergirl,
Sail on by.
Your time has come to shine.
All your dreams are on their way.
See how they shine.
If you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.

Ah, Diane. How sweet, honey. You sure you want to go with dys somewhere?

I guess so, listeners:

Let Me Be There

Wherever you go
Wherever you may wander in your life
Surely you know
I always wanna be there
Holding you hand
And standing by to catch you when you fall
Seeing you through
In everything you do

Let me be there in your morning
Let me be there in you night
Let me change whatever's wrong and make it right
Let me take you through that wonderland
That only two can share
All I ask you is let me be there

Watching you grow
And going through the changes in your life
That's how I know
I always wanna be there
Whenever you feel you need a friend to lean on, here I am
Whenever you call, you know I'll be there

Let me be there in your morning
Let me be there in you night
Let me change whatever's wrong and make it right
Let me take you through that wonderland
That only two can share
All I ask you is let me be there

Bring Some Heaven Down

Well I got a bee
Buzzin' over my shoulder
An' it's tellin' me
It's gettin' colder
Well I got a need
For for some good times comin' 'round
yea'n I'm gonna bring some heaven down

Now I see a mountain
Beyond the hills
But I'll climb higher
To touch the fire
Yea I've been found
By a sweet angel child
And I'm gonna bring some heaven down

Yea I'm gonna bring (bring bring)
Some heaven down (down down)
And I'm gonna sing (sing sing)
That I've been found (found found)
There'll be glory (hallelujah)
When that ol' train comes to town
'Till then I'm gonna bring some heaven down

Well there's a way
That leads up to heaven
A straight and narrow
Path to walk upon
Well you've got a Savior
But 'til he comes around
You know you've gotta bring some heaven down

Yea you gotta bring (bring bring)
Some heaven down (down down)
You've gotta sing (sing sing)
That you've been found (found found)
There'll be glory (hallelujah)
When that ol' train comes town
'Till then you've gotta bring some heaven down

Eric (rexred) Pedersen

You people got to know how to liven it up! Smile

Rex, I wondered where you were. Welcome back to our radio.

Well, buddy, if you want some old time religion:

Song lyrics
(A.P. Carter)

You gotta walk that lonesome valley
You gotta go all by yourself
No one else can walk it for you
You gotta walk all by yourself.

My mama said when she was dying
Just before she passed away
Said, "Come here son sit down beside me
You better listen to your mama's say."

"That you gotta walk that lonesome valley
You gotta go all by yourself
No one else can walk it for you
You gotta walk all by yourself."

Now many men has walked that valley
They had to walk all by theirselves
'Cause no one else could walk it for them
So you gotta walk all by yourself.

Yes, you gotta walk that lonesome valley
You gotta go all by yourself
No one else can walk it for you
You gotta walk all by yourself.

You must go and stand your trials boy
And you gotta stand all by yourself
'Cause no one else can stand them for you
You gotta stand all by yourself.

Yes, you gotta walk that lonesome valley
You gotta go all by yourself
No one else can walk it for you
You gotta walk all by yourself.

Yes, you gotta go all by yourself...

Bud and I played that on piano and bass and it really did swing.

Well, that's my goodnight song, folks.

From Letty with Love.

Billy Edd Wheeler/Jed Peters)

[Spoken:]
He rode easy in the saddle. He was tall and lean, and at first you'd a-thought nothing but a streak of mean could make a man look so down right strong, but one look in his eyes and you knowed you was wrong. He was a mountain of a man, and I want you to know. He could preach hot hell or freezin' snow. He carried a Bible in a canvas sack and folks just called him The Reverend Mr. Black. He was poor as a beggar, but he rode like a king. Sometimes in the evening, I'd hear him sing:

[Chorus:]
I gotta walk that lonesome valley. I got to walk it by myself. Oh nobody else can walk it for me. I got to walk it by myself.
[2nd & 3rd times:] You got to walk that lonesome valley. You got to walk it by yourself. Oh nobody else can walk it for you. You got to walk it by yourself.

If ever I could have thought this man in black was soft and had any yellow up his back, I gave that notion up the day a lumberjack came in and it wasn't to pray. Yeah, he kicked open the meeting house door and he cussed everybody up and down the floor! Then, when things got quiet in the place, he walked up and cusses in the preacher's face! He hit that Reverend like a kick of a mule and to my way of thinkin' it took a real fool to turn the other face to that lumber jack, but that's what he did, The Reverend Mr. Black. He stood like a rock, a man among men and he let that lumberjack hit him again, and then with a voice as quiet as could be, he cut him down like a big oak tree when he said:

[Chorus]

It's been many years since we had to part and I guess I learned his ways by heart. I can still hear his sermon's ring, down in the valley where he used to sing. I followed him, yes, sir, and I don't regret it and I hope I will always be a credit to his memory 'cause I want you to understand. The Reverend Mr. Black was my old man!

[Chorus]

For Dys and Di

Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes my way...

Born to be wild....

Good morning, WA2K radio.

You know, folks, when we see various versions of a song, we are reminded of just how important musical history can be. Someone once told me that in order to be a really eclectic musician, one must see the beauty and hear the sounds with a keen ear, of all types, regardless of preferences.

Thanks, edgar, for that reminder.

McTag, you are one pithy Brit. <smile>

Here's the rest of the song for dys and Di:

One of the great "Road Anthems" of all time

Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way

Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space

I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder
Racin' with the wind
And the feelin' that I'm under

Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space

Like a true nature's child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high
I never wanna die

Born to be wild
Born to be wild

"Let It Be"

[Bryan:]
Whenever I'm in times of trouble

[Everyone:]
Moma always come to me

[Chorus:]
Speaking words of wisdom
Let it be (let it be)

[Patrick:]
And in my hour of darkness

[Bryan:]
She is

[Everyone:]
Standing right in front of me

[Chorus:]
Speaking words of wisdom.
Let it be

hmmm, the new jackson five, i'd think carefully about that if i were their parents, that endeavour has been a bit a train wreck in the end

I'm with dj, folks, but often parents exploit their own kids.

Cat Stevens
ยป Wild World

1. Now that I've lost everything to you
You say you want to start something new
And it's breaking my heart you're leaving, baby I'm grieving
But if you want to leave take good care
Hope you have a lot of nice things to wear
But then a lot of nice things turn bad out there
Ref.: Oh, baby, baby it's a wild world
It's hard to get by just upon a smile
Oh, baby, baby it's a wild world
I'll always remember you like a child, girl
2. You know I've seen a lot of what the world can do
And it's breaking my heart in two
'Cos I never want to see you sad girl. don't be a bad girl
But if you want to leave take good care
Hope you make a lot of nice friends out there
But just remember there's a lot of bad and beware
Ref.: Oh, baby,baby ...
3. (Instrumental)
(Instrumental)
(Instrumental) , Baby I love you
But if you want to leave take good care
Hope you make a lot of nice friends out there
But just remember there's a lot of bad and beware
Ref.: Oh, baby, baby ... (2x)

LOL McTag, our motors are running, albeit a little slower than they did ten years ago. The area we're going to is gorgeous, with a lake and nature trails.

Yep, Letty, I'm always ready to go anywhere with the cowboy. Never known a sweeter man; plus, I'm one of the few who really understands his sense of humor and who appreciates his outrage at power seekers. Love that man.

Well, folks, Diane and dys are off to camp on the lake.

Have a great time, kids. <smile>

Hmmmm. Wonder where bio Bob is. I know he must have had karaoke last night, and I hope he didn't get his wings clipped.

Certainly do miss the rest of our European friends. Do you suppose if we dedicated a song to them, they would return?

We could do diamond girl for spidergirl.

How about some suggestions, listeners.

still number one--but being stalked by Conway Twitty--back in 1958, a romantic ballad by Tommy Edwards:

Many a tear has to fall
But it's all in the game

All in the wonderful game
That we know as love

You had words with him
And your future's looking dim
But these things your heart can rise above

Once in a while he won't call
But it's all in the game

Soon he'll be there by your side
With a small bouquet

And he'll kiss your lips
And caress your fingertips
And your heart will fly away

You had words with him
And your future's looking dim
But these things your heart can rise above

Once in a while he won't call
But it's all in the game

Soon he'll be there by your side
With a small bouquet

And he'll kiss your lips
And caress your fingertips
And your heart will fly away

Okay, Mr. Turtle. Great contribution; who shall we dedicate that one to?

Here's for spidergirl:

Diamond girl

Artist: Seals & Crofts
Song: Diamond girl

(lyrics by James Seals; music by James Seals & Dash Crofts, 1973)
From the albums DIAMOND GIRL (1973), GREATEST HITS (1975) and
THE SEALS & CROFTS COLLECTION (1979).

Diamond girl, you sure do shine. Glad I found you, glad you're mine.
Oh my love, you're like a precious stone, part of earth where heaven has rained on.
Makes no difference where you are. Day or nighttime, you're like a shinin' star.
And how could I shine without you, when it's about you that I am?

Diamond Girl, roamin' wild. Such a rare thing, radiant child.
I could never find, another one like you. Part of me is deep down inside you.
Can't you feel the whole world a-turin'. We are real, and we are a-burnin'.
Diamond Girl, now that I've found you, it's about you that I am.

Diamond Girl, you sure do shine. Diamond Girl, you sure do shine.
Diamond Girl, you sure do shine. Diamond Girl, you sure do shine.

Back in 1968 a 3 man rock/blues band played their farewell concert. thankyou & goodnight
This year those same 3 blokes got back together for 4 reunion concerts in London.
How could these 3 60 year old musicians play such a brillian set as they put on. All their great numbers were on show, as was their free-form playing & great solos.
The Cream of the crop.
I've got a DVD of both events & it's great too listen too the rawness of the original & then the tighter playing of the latter
watch, listen & love it
