Since I have wall to wall carpeting in my radio station, I can still dance, y'all, even though I broke my hip. Razz

Not in my kitchen however. It's ceramic tile.

Going to say good after noon with two songs.

Bet edgar will remember this one.

and, a lovely oriental song:

Wonderful having England, France, and Scotland with us today. Perhaps Ireland again tomorrow.

From Letty with love to the world.

Hi Miss Letty,
Great to hear you're dancing away to Bowie.

I think I'll stay native tonight.

Luke Kelly - - On Raglan Road
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-Q6NAfx3yo

On Raglan Road by Patrick Kavanagh
On Raglan Road on an autumn day I met her first and knew
That her dark hair would weave a snare that I might one day rue;
I saw the danger, yet I walked along the enchanted way,
And I said, let grief be a fallen leaf at the dawning of the day.

On Grafton Street in November we tripped lightly along the ledge
Of the deep ravine where can be seen the worth of passion's pledge,
The Queen of Hearts still making tarts and I not making hay -
O I loved too much and by such and such is happiness thrown away.

I gave her gifts of the mind I gave her the secret sign that's known
To the artists who have known the true gods of sound and stone
And word and tint. I did not stint for I gave her poems to say.
With her own name there and her own dark hair like clouds over fields of May

On a quiet street where old ghosts meet I see her walking now
Away from me so hurriedly my reason must allow
That I had wooed not as I should a creature made of clay -
When the angel woos the clay he'd lose his wings at the dawn of day.

Christy Moore - - Back home in Derry
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7UWm5nXXqQ

Back home in Derry by Bobby Sands
In 1803 we sailed out to sea
Out from the sweet town of Derry
For Australia bound if we didn’t all drown
And the marks of our fetters we carried.

In the rusty iron chains we sighed for our wains
As our good wives we left in sorrow.
As the mainsails unfurled our curses we hurled
On the English and thoughts of tomorrow.

Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry.
Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry.

I cursed them to hell as our bow fought the swell.
Our ship danced like a moth in the firelights.
White horses rode high as the devil passed by
Taking souls to Hades by twilight.

Five weeks out to sea we were now forty-three
Our comrades we buried each morning.
In our own slime we were lost in a time.
Endless night without dawning.

Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry.
Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry.

Van Dieman’s land is a hell for a man
To live out his life in slavery.
When the climate is raw and the gun makes the law.
Neither wind nor rain cares for bravery.

Twenty years have gone by and I’ve ended me bond
And comrades’ ghosts are behind me.
A rebel I came and I’ll die the same.
On the cold winds of night you will find me

Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry.
Oh Oh Oh Oh I wish I was back home in Derry.

Good morning from our Florida radio station.

edgar, glad you remembered The Lovliest Night of the Year. Hank Williams doing that one was great as was the one by "the Fab Four".

euroGeorge, I love Ragland Road by Luke as well as Back Home in Derry

Pushman, Love those quotes from Shakespeare, especially The Taming of the Shrew.

Today is this wonderful composer's birthday:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnpBNrwkvvQ

And this marvelous painter, too.

One of my favorites by him is Water Lilies.

Wish I could have done the slide show, but there were too many.

Later, we'll do Billy the Kid by Copeland.

Billy the Kid by Marty was great, Texas.

Interesting tribute to The Animals, y'all.

Another explanation of why I stay with this radio. I can no longer do pictures with this new PC and although I loved The Where Am I forum, noone would ever thake their turn.

Latin George, That is a rather derogatory remark about Shakespeare.

Here's the Oriental music that I was referring to:
