Yit, you are funny, even droll. <smile>
We were hoping that you weren't an endangered species.
Song for all who have gone:
Painted Turtles
by Joseph Immel
To the melody of Shady Grove:
His curly brown and salty locks [Em D]
glisten in the pale moon light [Em G]
and the sweet heavy air of summer storms [Em D]
playing at midnight. [Em -]
Dew drops from his mother's eyes,
tears of a heavy heart:
"Send pretty Johnny kisses from me
through the dead of the summer night."
Tell him painted turtles love wetland creeks,
and summers long and free;
He'll bless a twilight secret wish,
on a barefoot beach with me.
Refrain:
My Johnny's gone, little Johnny's gone,
'though he loved the Island Long,
A white egret's wing and the rush of spring,
moon sails and the misty songs.
Hear the ocean wind sing quietly
of the love between man and sea,
and of the tides that Johnny drifts on
through the sands of our memory.
The years buried mother's love for him,
'neath bay and ocean sea,
hatched in the nest of my hometown
in the wood of a maple tree.
Pink mist loves the morning sun
then rises to the sky.
Bring a lantern for the foggy night
to catch a firefly.
(Refrain)
Are those lovely lyrics, listeners?

Drollards? Love it, Yit.
For all of us here and everywhere from Carlos Santana:
All the Love of the Universe
Oo, oo, do...
New thoughts
Will purify my mind
and clean my body
New lives
will fall together like an endless story
All the love of the universe
will be shared by all that's living
And I don't really care
about tomorrow
Today
is all I really need to find the answers
I'll find the constant flow
of all the harmony
Everybody needs a helpin' hand
Everybody needs a helpin' hand
And next, folks, We'll find a song by The Doobie Bros called China Grove.

Did Letty really call him a troll? What a silly girl.
Song About Old Troll
Troll sat alone on his seat of stone,
And munched and mumbled a bare old bone;
For many a year he had gnawed it near,
For meat was hard to come by.
Done by! Gum by!
In a cave in the hills he dwelt alone,
And meat was hard to come by.
Up came Tom with his big boots on.
Said he to Troll: "Pray, what is yon?
For it looks like the shin o' my nuncle Tim,
As should be a-lyin' in graveyard.
Caveyard! Paveyard!
This many a year has Tim been gone,
And I thought he were lyin' in graveyard."
"My lad," said Troll, "this bone I stole.
But what be bones that lie in a hole?
Thy nuncle was dead as a lump o' lead,
Afore I found his shinbone.
Tinbone! Thinbone!
He can spare a share for a poor old troll,
For he don't need his shinbone."
Said Tom: "I don't see why the likes o' thee
Without axin' leave should go makin' free
With the shank or the shin o' my father's kin;
So hand the old bone over!
Rover! Trover!
Though dead he be, it belongs to he;
So hand the old bone over!"
"For a couple o' pins," says Troll, and grins,
"I'll eat thee too, and gnaw thy shins.
A bit o' fresh meat will go down sweet!
I'll try my teeth on thee now.*
Hee now! See now!
I'm tired o' gnawing old bones and skins;
I've a mind to dine on thee now."
*[as read by Tolkien on the tape:]
Thee'll be a nice change from thine nuncle.
Sunkle! Drunkle!
I'm tired of gnawing old bones and skins;
Thee'll be a nice change from thine nuncle."
But just as he thought his dinner was caught,
He found his hands had hold of naught.
Before he could mind, Tom slipped behind
And gave him the boot to larn him.
Warn him! Darn him!
A bump o' the boot on the seat, Tom thought,
Would be the way to larn him.
But harder than stone is the flesh and bone
Of a troll that sits in the hills alone.
As well set your boot to the mountain's root,
For the seat of a troll don't feel it.
Peel it! Heal it!
Old Troll laughed, when he heard Tom groan,
And he knew his toes could feel it.
Tom's leg is game, since home he came,
And his bootless foot is lasting lame;
But Troll don't care, and he's still there
With the bone he boned from it's owner.
Doner! Boner!
Troll's old seat is still the same,
And the bone he boned from it's owner!
Songs and tales from J.R.R. Tolkien's work.

Yep, Bob. Letty can be silly and willie-nilly, especially when the sun goes down and the moon comes up.
Loved your Tolkien troll. But he had better beware of the three billy goats gruff. <smile>
Now for the Doobie a do-bee.
When the sun comes up on a sleepy little town
Down around San Antone
And the folks are risin' for another day
'Round about their homes.
The people of the town are strange
And they're proud of where they came.
Well, you're talkin' 'bout China Grove, wo, oh, oh,
Oh, China Grove
Well, the preacher and the teacher,
Lord, they're a caution, they are the talk of the town.
When the gossip gets to flyin' and they ain't lyin';
When the sun goes fallin' down.
They say that the father's insane
And dear Missus Perkin's a game.
We're talkin' 'bout the China Grove, wo oh ho
Oh, China Grove.
But everyday there's a new thing comin',
The ways of an oriental view.
The sheriff and his buddies
With their samurai swords,
You can even hear the music at night.
And though it's part of the Lone Star State
People don't seem to care,
They just keep on lookin' to the East
Talkin' 'bout the China Grove, oh, China Grove.

Well, folks. there you have it from Texas. They are having a heat wave in many parts of America. Las Vegas over 105 degrees, Arizona the same.
Jewel
It's too darn hot
It's too darn hot
I'd like to sup
With my baby tonight
Refill the cup
With my baby tonight
I'd like to sup
With my baby tonight
Refill the cup
With my baby tonight
But brother you'll find
My baby tonight
Cause it's too darn hot
I call into
The Kinsey report
Every average man, you know
He much prefers
His lovey-dovey to court
When the temperature is low
Cause when the thermometer
Goes way up
And the weather is sizzling hot
Mr. Pants for romance
A G.I. for his cutie-pie
A marine for his queen is not
Cause its too, too
Too darn hot
It's too darn hot
It's too darn hot
It's too darn hot
It's too
Darn
Hot

Yep, it's HOT, but still beautiful. BTW, Dys has always loved Diana Rigg. What a classy lady.
Carlos Santana is one of my favorites. Would love to see him in concert.
Now for a little more heat:
Never know how much I love you
Never know how much I care
When you put your arms around me
I get a fever that's so hard to bear
You give me fever, when you kiss me
Fever when you hold me tight
Fever in the morning
Fever all through the night
Sun lights up the daytime
Moon lights up the night
My eyes light up when you call my name
'Cause I know you're gonna treat me right
Everybody's got the fever
That is something you should know
Fever isn't such a new scene
Fever started long ago
Romeo loved Juliet
Juliet, she felt the same
When he put his arms around her
He said, "Julie baby, you're my flame"
Captain smith and Pocahontas
Had a very mad affair
When her daddy tried to kill him
She said, daddy oh don't you dare
"He gives me fever
"With his kisses
"Fever when he holds me tight
"Fever, I'm his missus
"So, daddy, won't you treat him right"
Fever, when you kiss them
Fever, if you live and learn
Fever, 'til you sizzle
What a lovely way to burn

...and it is very hot here too <sweat>
BILLY IDOL LYRICS
"Hot In The City"
Stranger, stranger, stranger, stranger
It's hot here at night, lonely, black and quiet
On a hot summer night
Don't be afraid of the world we made
On a hot summer night
'Cause when a long-legged lovely walks by
Yeah you can see the look in her eye
Then you know that it's
[Refrain]
Hot in the city, hot in the city tonight, tonight
Hot in the city, hot in the city tonight, tonight
Stranger, stranger
For all the dreams and schemes,
people are as they seem
On a hot summer night
Don't be no fun, don't forget you're young
On a hot summer night
A sometime someone you're not
Don't wait to see what you got
'Cause you know that you're
[Refrain]
We'll walk until my feet drop
I'm a train when I'm hateful
Yeah, lay right down now
And ride until your head breaks
I'm a-walkin' 'til my brain pops
I will move with the beat now
I'm a chain 'round an A-bomb
I'm a ribbon in the heat now
New York!
[Refrain, repeat to fade]

Ah, Diane, Peggy Lee.
We all love her, right listeners?
Well, most of our Europeans are asleep and loving it, especially Walter since he hung out too long with the psychologists.<smile>
Strange, earlier I was listening to my cd by Diana Krall. Man, can she sing. How about one from her and maybe it will cool us off:
AUTUMN LEAVES Lyrics
The falling leaves
Drift by the window
The autumn leaves
Of red and gold
I see your lips
The summer kisses
The sunburned hands
I used to hold
Since you went away
The days grow long
And soon I'll hear
Old winter's song
But I miss you most of all
My darling
When autumn leaves
Start to fall

Hot Child In The City
Nick Gilder
Danger in the shape of somethin' wild
Stranger dressed in black, she's a hungry child
No one knows who she is or what her name is
I don't know where she came from or what her game is
(Hot child in the city)
(Hot child in the city)
(Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty)
(Hot child in the city)
So young to be loose and on her own
Young boys, they all want to take her home
She goes downtown, the boys all stop and stare
When she goes downtown, she walks like she just don't care, care
(Hot child in the city)
(Hot child in the city)
(Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty)
Yeah
(Hot child in the city)
Come on down to my place, baby
We'll talk about love
Come on down to my place, woman
We'll make love!
Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)
She's kinda dangerous
(Hot child in the city)
Young child
(Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty)
Young child, runnin' wild
(Hot child in the city)
Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)
(Hot child in the city)
(Hot child in the city)
Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)
Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)

Well, I'm hot blooded, check it and see
I got a fever of a hundred and three
Come on baby, do you do more than dance?
I'm hot blooded, I'm hot blooded
You don't have to read my mind, to know what I have in mind
Honey you oughta know
Now you move so fine, let me lay it on the line
I wanna know what you're doin' after the show
Now it's up to you, we can make a secret rendezvous
Just me and you, I'll show you lovin' like you never knew
That's why, I'm hot blooded, check it and see
I got a fever of a hundred and three
Come on baby, do you do more than dance?
I'm hot blooded, hot blooded
If it feels alright, maybe you can stay all night
Shall I leave you my key?
But you've got to give me a sign, come on girl, some kind of sign
Tell me, are you hot mama? you sure look that way to me
Are you old enough? will you be ready when I call you bluff?
Is my timing right? did you save your love for me tonight?
Yeah I'm hot blooded, check it and see
Feel the fever burning inside of me
Come on baby, do you do more than dance?
I'm hot blooded, I'm hot blooded, I'm hot
Now it's up to you, can we make a secret rendezvous?
Oh, before we do, you'll have to get away from you know who
Well, I'm hot blooded, check it and see
I got a fever of a hundred and three
Come on baby, do you do more than dance?
I'm hot blooded, I'm hot blooded
Hot blooded, every night
Hot blooded, you're looking so tight
Hot blooded, now you're driving me wild
Hot blooded, I'm so hot for you, child
Hot blooded, I'm a little bit high
Hot blooded, you're a little bit shy
Hot blooded, you're making me sing
Hot blooded, for your sweet sweet thing

Working On My Tan
Tim Curry
Nikki's at the campsite in the caravan
On the Riviera
Every night the bugs bite
Catch her if they can
But she don't hear of it
She say...
"I'm working on my tan...
Oh man,
I'm working on my tan
Oh man,
Working on my tan"
Harvey sings calypso in the hotel band
But it's just financial
Playing for the dipsoes, and the also-rans
But he ain't anxious, Man,
He say, "I'm workin on my tan
Oh man...
I'm working on my tan.
Oh man
Workin on my tan."
Hunt yourself and island
Hitch down to the beach
The sun belong to everyone,
In everybody's reach
If confined to dry land,
Peel yourself a peach
Hey c'mon, son of a gun...
Do I have to teach you what to say?
Take a bus, take a truck.
Take a bus, take a truck
Take a bus, take a truck
But take along, your good look!
Do it in Jamaica
Do it in Japan
Do it in Siberia
Give us all a break and do it in Iran
Do it in Afghanistan.
Everybody say - ay
I'm working on my tan.Oh man!
I'm working on my tan.Oh man!
Working on my tan!
Sunshine
Sunshine
Sunshine
Sunshine!

Summer in the City
The Lovvin' Spoonful
Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city
All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head
But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it'll be alright
And babe, don't you know it's a pity
That the days can't be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city
Cool town, evening in the city
Dressing so fine and looking so pretty
Cool cat, looking for a kitty
Gonna look in every corner of the city
Till I'm wheezing like a bus stop
Running up the stairs, gonna meet you on the rooftop
But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it'll be alright
And babe, don't you know it's a pity
That the days can't be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city
Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city
All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head
But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it'll be alright
And babe, don't you know it's a pity
That the days can't be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city

edgar, Yit, dj, Miss Letty knows them tunes. (resisting the urge to ask if there are any hotties out there. )
You know listeners, I realize that some sir names are very common, but they become so special when part of a song:
Have You Met Miss Jones Lyrics
Have you met Miss Jones
Someone said as we shook hands
She was just Miss Jones to me
Then I said Miss Jones
You're a girl who understands
I'm a man who must be free.
And all at once I lost my breath
And all at once was scared to death
And all at once I own the earth and sky
Now I met Miss Jones
And well keep on meeting till we die
Miss Jones and I
And all at once I lost my breath
And all at once was scared to death
And all at once I own the earth and sky
Now I met Miss Jones
And well keep on meeting till we die
Miss Jones and I
Miss Jones and I
Miss Jones and I
WOW!

You Got The Style
Athlete
Oh no
gone and put my foot in it again
think back i can't believe that it was me who said that
last time
i promised i'd bite my tongue until i counted to ten
[five six seven eight nine and ten]
i said oh it's getting hot in here
must be something in the atmosphere
oh oh-oh oh oh
oh it's getting hot in here
there must be something in the atmosphere
oh i could be laughing about it
and making the most of the true british climate
oh it's getting hot in here
there must be something in the atmosphere
oh oh-oh oh oh
i've seen
the tension on the high street growing lately
it seems that you have to be careful who you look at
sometimes
i can't see things the way you see them
but this is our home
i said
oh it's getting hot in here
there must be something in the atmosphere
oh i could be laughing about it
and making the most of the true british climate
oh it's getting hot in here
there must be something in the atmosphere
oh oh-oh oh oh
yeah you got the style
and we've got the style
and they got the style
and everybody's got it
and you got the style
and we've got the style
and they got the style
and everybody's got it
and you got the style
and we've got the style
oh oh
oh it's getting hot in here
there must be something in the atmosphere
oh i could be laughing about it
and making the most of the true british climate
oh it's getting hot in here
there must be something in the atmosphere
oh oh-oh oh oh
