We're off to The Boston Globe Summer Arts Weekend.
There's live outdoor (free!) entertainment in Copley Square.
These guys are playing.

Well - Saturday night - a little Australian rock with a message!

It refers to the asbestos mines at Wittenoom Gorge, and subsequent illnesses.

Good morning from our Radio Station in Florida.

edgar, nice to have you back and that one by Phil Ochs having visited Lincoln Park and survived was great.

Margo, my Aussie friend, Loved Midnight Oil and Friday on my Mind.

My daughter and I decided that the best movies were those on AMC. I didn't sleep too well, so I watched both of these.

First, based on a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson. The Charge of the Light Brigade:

Now I know where Intrepid's Nightingale came from.

and, y'all, one of my favorite composers, Schumanm and Clara.

My favorite by him was Traumerei.

Stepcrew was also at the Summer Arts Weekend.
One of the styles they dance is called "Ottawa Valley Stepdancing".
I had never heard of it.

@George,
Hey, Latin George. Did you like those trailers? Love the Step Crew.

Here's another dance. Incidentally, y'all, Celtic is a combination of Irish and Scottish.

Not quite, the Celts (and Picts) were inhabiting these Islands before the Roman invasion. Successive invasions by the Saxons, Vikings and Normans pushed most of the Celts to the fringes, Ireland, Wales, Scottish Highlands and Cornwall, and there's been a lot of moving to and fro since.

Glasgow Celtic football club's supporters are made up primarily of those Glaswegians whose ancestors emigrated to from Ireland during the potato famine, as opposed to the protestant supporters of Glasgow Rangers.

Here's a song completely unrelated, and the spawn of a particularly bad joke. What sound does a disco cat make? Meeyowsah, yowsah, yowsah.

This dance appears to be more a combination of Irish dancing and flamenco than anything else.

While most of the steps are straight from Irish dancing, a lot of the arm movements are reminiscent of flamenco, rather than from Irish and/or Scottish dancing, both of which have quite restrictive arm movement.

There's quite a crossover between the music of northern Spain and Irish/Celtic music. Carlos Nunez is known as a Spanish/Celtic musician:

Carlos Nunez was at last year's Summer Arts Weekend in Boston.
He is Galician and an amazing musician!
He put on a great show and on his last number combined with some
Scottish pipers.
