Rhys and I went to last night's Red So game at Fenway Park. (I won the
tickets in an office lottery -- no way am I shelling out the $98.00 apiece
that these tickets cost). In what must be one of the world's silliest
ballpark traditions, they play "Sweet Caroline" and everybody sings along.
When the song gets to "Good times never felt so good", everybody chants
"So good! So good! So Good!". After the line "Sweet Caroline" the sings
"Wo wo wo". There are baseball purists who hate, but everybody else
has fun with it.

tsarStephen, It Takes Two by Joanna and Chi was great. Good to know our radio is working, y'all.

Hey, pullman. Good to see you with us again. Didn't know The Sweet Block Buster but it was a good one.

Latin George. Love it when you do those personal anecdotes. My favorite by you was Neil's Sweet Caroline. I think we all know that was for The Kennedy Lady.
Goethe, love seeing and hearing you with us. I had no idea that the famous trio did It Ain't Me Babe was written and preformed for "the jester". Thanks.

Hope I didn't miss anyone. You are all too talented to skip.

Today is Boy George's birthday, and this is my favorite by that Culture Club man.

Well, y'all, last night was Saturn's Day, and I have never experienced such thunder and lightning. My computer was trembling and I could hardly type,

Latin George's daughter was experiencing Labor day and he let me know from the hospital. I said a little prayer for her.

Glad to know my friend Roger is alright, too.

A sleepless night for me, and for the first time ever, I ate supper at five o'clock and could not fall asleep.

My daughter's mauve yorki dog could not be found and that dog is like a child to her.

The only person that I have been with when he died was my daddy and he kept saying: Quit grinning at me like a possum. He wanted a wake and looking back, that was odd. Then we sang Don't let the deal go down.

Two songs for the bright and clear morning here.

First a birthday guy:

Now, Doc Watson does the music to Don't Let the Deal go down, but not the lyrics that I know.

Our lyrics:

where did you get those high top shoes,
where did you get that dress so fine,
I got my shoes from a railroad man,
and my dress from a driver in the mine

Early this morning I held my newborn grandson in my arms.
This is for him.

and a poem by Oliver Wendel Holmes. It's the last verse of Chambered Nautilus.

Build thee more stately mansions, O my soul,
As the swift seasons roll!
Leave thy low-vaulted past!
Let each new temple, nobler than the last,
Shut thee from heaven with a dome more vast,
Till thou at length art free,
Leaving thine outgrown shell by life’s unresting sea!

Tokyo Shoe Shine Boy - Teruko Akatsuki
Famous Japanese song featured on MASH (TV and/or movie soundtrack).

I was surprised to hear it playing on the classic sci-fi anime, Akira (1988). Don't think I have ever noticed it before.

I enjoyed those lines from "The Chambered Nautilus".

I'll always associate Oliver Wendell Holmes with the poem "Old Ironsides"
which we had to memorize in school. Do kids memorize poems any more?

Here I am, Tsar, so now you can read me. Razz

Latin George, everything was memorized in school when I was a kid. I memorized the combinations of ten and had no idea what it meant. Razz

I'll have to check out Old Ironsides now.

Two songs for the morning here. First dear Bobby:
