@Letty,
Speaking of kings, here's a newer and much more interesting version of one by the King of Pop.

Eva, Welcome back, dear friend. Loved that Civil Wars doing a cover of Michael Jackson. <sniff>

Olivier5 Always good to see our French man here. Loved both your songs. Didn't know either of them, so once again, thanks for the introduction. Hold good thoughts for Izzie the pushman.

Going to say good night a bit early as the equipment here in my Florida radio station is not working propetly.

Here's a guy that I had no idea was British.

So great having my friend "Venus" with us. Razz

and, of course , France.

From Letty with love to everyone here.

Good morning from here in our Florida radio station.

Izz with a y. Great to see that you are alright. Don't know Hawkwind doing Hassan Sahba. Is that Persian? Once again thanks for the introduction. Odd dream, however.

Today is this man's birthday, but first some information:

Alexandre Tansman (12 June 1897 – 15 November 1986) was a Polish-born French composer and virtuoso pianist. He spent his early years in his native Poland, but lived in France for most of his life. His music is primarily neoclassical, drawing on his Polish-Jewish heritage as well as his French musical influences.
Charlie Chaplan helped him get his visa to leave Germany during Hitler's regime.

Now, the music:

Our poem for the morning:

William Cowper; just the last verses, however.

Awakening, how could I but muse
On what such a dream might betide?
But soon my ear caught the glad news
Which serv'd my weak thoughts for a guide,
That BRITANNIA, renown'd o'er the waves,
For the hatred she ever has shown
To the black-scepter'd rulers of slaves,
Resolves to have none of her own.

@izzythepush,
I knew that was Persian, push man. Just didn't know the songs. Love ethnicity and other explorations.

I had a Persian cat that my late husband named Murdoch. When we moved from one house to another, he went back to the old house and never returned.

My cat was white.

and, a birthday man singing Sinatra with Steve.

Vic Damone did Four Winds and the Seven Seas but I recall it best by Mel Torme.
You might be interested in the song that I played first, Brit.

While we await our Brit's comment, here is another birthday guy. He is paying tribute to this musician.

Walter Hyatt was American singer and songwriter. His band, known as Uncle Walt's Band, was involved in the alternative music scene in Austin, Texas, from its inception and is credited by many with being the Godfather of Americana Music or the Original Americana Artist, never easily pegged into any one musical genre or format of commercial music styles.

Funny, y'all, 'cause when we were kids, if someone was being hateful, we would call them: rudy,rudy,rudy. Razz

@Letty,
Walter Hyatt is great. I own one of his greatest hits albums: Some Unfinished Business, Volume One. Not sure what happened to volume two. Maybe his widow is having/had a problem with the recording studio.

@tsarstepan,
tsar, Welcome back and thanks for your comment. I don't know the group Phoenix , but they were a wonderful reminder of our Phoenix(Bernice) and Mozart. This may not be from his 1901 album, but it is so calming and healing.

@Letty,

Would you like to give this one a spin? It's by a Belgian guy, well loved in France.

@McTag,
McTag, welcome back. That's the best song that I ever heard Jaques sing. Love it.

Thinking of Al Jolson and Sonny Bono today. Here's a tribute to the man whose death is still questioned.
