Everyone thought that The Flying Machine was Grace Slick, but it wasn't. There really was a group called The Flying Machine.

We don't want to forget Peggy Lee's birthday. What a surprise to find out that she didn't do the original Fever.

edgar, Thanks for your comment on Peggy Lee. I've always loved her music as well.

Roger, So glad you enjoyed that one by Seals and Croft, dear friend.

Here's one to match edgar's version.

That's the first one that I ever heard by him, and I recall saying to myself:

What's a Jewish man doing singing about Jesus. Then, of course, I realized that Jesus was Jewish.

I had never heard of Leonard Cohen, in 1968, when I went in a record store and saw his first album. I bought it on a hunch. At the same time, I had never heard Judy Collins before. But, I loved Suzanne, and I saw that song was on her current album - In My Life. So, I became an avid fan of both artists, without ever hearing of them prior. I still listen to those two albums as much as any others.

You just want to put a flower in your hair when you listen to Judy.
Or behind your ear if you've no hair. Cool

Amy Winehouse - Back to black.

What edgar said about ABBA, euro. Love the Dancing Queen by them as well.
Also loved Back to Black and you sleep well.

Priests by Judy was great as was the Rolling Stones.

Hope I didn't get our songs and contributors all mixed up, y'all.

Today is this great jazz man's birthday. Here he is with his trumpet:

What a wonderful mix of music on our radio today and this evening.

Going to say goodnight with Andrea and Edith;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4REbp0s_G9w

and, the English lyrics.

Hold me close and hold me fast
The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose

When you kiss me heaven sighs
And tho I close my eyes
I see la vie en rose

When you press me to your heart
I'm in a world apart
A world where roses bloom

And when you speak... angels sing from above
Everyday words seem... to turn into love songs

Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
La vie en rose

From Letty with love to all of you here

This record was a big international hit, in 1958.
