@edgarblythe,
edgqar, I love Slaughter on Tenth Avenue. I saw the movie with Vera Ellen and Gene Kelly. To this day, I think the best movies are on TCM.

A tribute to a birthday man. Odd On the Waterfront was on TCM the other evening.

P J Proby, Hold Me

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w5AQX2WrB4

I was driving in my car this week, and on the radio came an original version of this song, from the 1940s (Jack Hylton Orchestra) and nearly unrecognisable from the 1960s version here.

McTag, Welcome back. Your video wouldn't play here but I listened on mine and that guy was good.

edgar, Thanks for your comment and Bobby's Volare was excellent.

Today is Eddie Murphy's birthday and he was a fantastic comedian. My favorite movie by him was Beverly Hills Cop, so here is the theme from it.

I've watched that movie and one or two others by Murphy.

In honor of the new movie in town, here is Belafonte's Noah.

@edgarblythe,
Loved Harry doing Noah, edgar. Today is this guy's birthday, but first some info.

Virgil Ivan Grissom (April 3, 1926 – January 27, 1967), better known as Gus Grissom, was one of the original NASA Project Mercury astronauts and a United States Air Force pilot. He was the second American to fly in space, and the first member of the NASA Astronaut Corps to fly in space twice.

Grissom was killed along with fellow astronauts Ed White and Roger Chaffee during a pre-launch test for the Apollo 1 mission at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (then known as Cape Kennedy), Florida. He was the first of the Mercury Seven to die. He was also a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross and, posthumously, the Congressional Space Medal of Honor.

Now, the tribute.

@edgarblythe,
Love that one by Buffy, edgar. Odd, so long ago, a guy named Mysteryman had a bit of info on an entire town in Florida did not vote. I told him that I missed the primary, and we discussed: "in the place where the arm had been, there grew a wing". He said that he had that on his wall in his computer room. I discussed UVA and my degree from there an Gusrazzenhaufer. (sp) said: "here's looking at you, kid". At that point, I remember this one by Buffy.l
