edgar, Loved Forever Young, but I only saw one tenor. It was great.

LatinGeorge, welcome back to you as well. Didn't know that one by Dakota Staton, so once again, thanks for the introduction.

Well, today is Reba's birthday, so here is a great on by that great lady:

This 70's goldy has grown into an atheist hymn in France. It's largely a joke but there's a message, in the bridge (do not fear hell), which proved useful with children of atheists such as myself, who get to hear stories about how they are going to hell because they don't believe in God... This song literally saved my daughter!

Everybody knows it and the lyrics are well known. To such a degree that, towards the end of the vid below, Polnareff cannot bring the song to a close: the public keeps singing it again and again even after he leaves the scene -- a good example of a work of art that escape its creator.

Michel Polnareff - On Ira Tous Au Paradis (We All Go To Heaven)

On ira tous au paradis --- We all go to heaven
Même moi --- Even me
Qu'on soit béni ou qu'on soit maudit --- Whether we're blessed or cursed
On ira --- That will be
Tout' les bonn' soeœurs et tous les voleurs --- All the nuns and all the burglars
Et tout' les brebis et tous les bandits --- And all the sheep and all the gangsters
On ira tous au paradis --- We'll all meet in paradise

On ira tous au paradis --- We all go to heaven
Même moi --- Even me
Qu'on soit béni ou qu'on soit maudit --- Whether we're blessed or cursed
On ira --- That will be
Avec les saints et les assassins --- With all the saints and the assassins
Les femmes du monde et puis les putains --- All the ladies and the harlots
On ira tous au paradis --- We'll all meet in paradise

Ne crois pas ce que les gens disent --- Do not believe what people say
C'est ton coeœur qui est la seule église --- It's your heart which is the only church
Laisse un peu de vague à ton âme --- Let your soul wave a little
N'aie pas peur de la couleur des flammes de l'enfer --- Do not fear the color of hellfire

On ira tous au paradis --- We all go to heaven
Même moi --- Even me
Qu'on croie en Dieu ou qu'on n'y croie pas --- Whether we believe in God or not
On ira --- We will go
Qu'on ait fait le bien ou bien Ie mal --- Whether we've done good or evil
On sera tous invités au bal --- We'll all be invited to the ball
On ira tous au paradis --- We'll all meet in paradise

On ira tous au paradis --- We all go to heaven
Etc.

On ira tous au paradis... --- We all go to heaven ...
Surtout moi! --- Especially me!

Good morning from here in our Florida radio station.

edgar, thanks for your comment, and that one by "the king" with the other vocalists was fantastic.

Monsieur Olivier, welcome back to you again. That Michael was fantastic. Sorry about his limited vision, but it sometimes happens to talented people. Your translation is also appreciated. Thanks for the introduction.

Sometimes, y'all, the prelude to a kiss, is more powerful than the actual one.

Here's the Duke with an instrumental version:

Now, fabulous Ella who includes the lyrics

@George,
Some of us oldies -but-moldies liked the original Jorgen Ingmann version, too. He was a master git-picker.This was popular on this side of the pond as well:

Jorgan Ingman's was the only Apache I ever heard, before the advent of youtube.

@edgarblythe,
I learned recently that he was a well-known jazz guitariast, from Denmark who, with his wife Grethe, made his first foray into the diff music style of pop mainstream around that time (1961). Listening to it now, he sounds pretty contemporary and supremely talented.

Well, radio contributors and listeners, I had to batten down the hatches here in our Florida radio station. Scarey weather reports, one of which was a tornado threat.

So sorry that I cannot acknowledge each one of the wonderful songs, but I think you will understand.

Speaking of weather, I think of that brilliant Japanese man, Satt

Not certain that his will play properly, but I love it.

As I told Satt fs. He whistles a bit out of tune.
