@edgarblythe,
FWIW, to my ear and thinking is that audio clip was actually Brook Benton but wrongly attributed to Solomon Burke.

@Ragman,
Brook Benton has a much richer voice than Solomon. I remember this record on the radio and it sounds exactly the same, to me. Gots to be Solomon.

On Pointless today there was a question about George Harrison. Put me in mind of this, unfortunately it wasn't a pointless answer.

@edgarblythe,
I just read up on the song and you're right (of course) - it's Burke. In fact, it was his first hit (1961). His singing style and the song was soooo stylistically different than what I recall about Burke. Kind of like early Nat King Cole or more like some of Brook Benton's. Solomon style (eventually?) reminded me of Fats Domino style of New Orleans R&R.

It is difficult for me to explain how grateful I am to all of you for keeping our radio station on the air.

Rosborne, I believe it's your first time here and I love your version of Concrete Angel.

As you all know, my way of thanking you is to thumb up each response.

I feel somewhat better, and as I have noted before, music is healing.

Saying goodnight with Diana Krall.

From Letty with love and appreciation.

@rosborne979,
Most of this song is only good, but check out the guitar solo beginning at 3:10 in. It's not fast or difficult, just beautiful.

@rosborne979,
How about some electric violin. Ponty's violin solo's are what make these things exceptional.
