@Letty,
I hate to be in disagreement here, letty, but the song, Mr Bojangles, is about a fellow jail prisoner Jerry Jeff Walker knew.

This song is a day late, but a good one.

I wondered about Bojangles, edgar, and I did a bit of research, and it kept coming up with Bill Robinson. Thanks for the clarification, however.Enjoyed A Soldier Makes it Hom by Arlo. That was a good one by The Byrds.

Hey, pushman. Psychedelic music by Cream was good. Wasn't there some kind of superstition connected with that genre?

Going to say good night with two songs. First a funny replete with megaphones.

Now a classic of the moon.

We love and learn on our radio.

Here is the Wikipedia version of Mr Bojangles' history.
Walker has said he was inspired to write the song after an encounter with a street performer in a New Orleans jail and that the song does not refer to the famous stage and movie personality Bill "Bojangles" Robinson. Walker said while in jail for public intoxication in 1965, he met a homeless white man who called himself "Mr. Bojangles" to conceal his true identity from the police. He had been arrested as part of a police sweep of indigent people that was carried out following a high-profile murder. The two men and others in the cell chatted about all manner of things, but when Mr. Bojangles told a story about his dog, the mood in the room turned heavy. Someone else in the cell asked for something to lighten the mood, and Mr. Bojangles obliged with a tap dance.[1][2]

@Letty,
I don't know about any superstition specifically attached to Cream, but I suppose if you do as many recreational drugs as Clapton did back in the day you'll believe anything.

Winchester Cathedral is just down the road from me, about 14 miles.

Sir John Tavener died yesterday, a man whose music was very much motivated by a strong Christian faith, but also appealed to a more secular audience.

Good morning from here as well, edgar.

Thanks for your comment and Judy's Wildflower. Also appreciate further explanation of the tap dance man.

Hey, Pushman, That tribute to John Tavener was fantastic. I love the cello. Your photo of Winchester Cathedral was really inspiring. Thanks, buddy.

I'm going to begin the day with Chris again since many of our listeners and contributors missed him.

Here are the lyrics, also.

When I fall in love it will be forever
Or I'll never fall in love
In a restless world like this is
Love is ended before it's begun
And too many moonlight kisses
Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun

When I give my heart it will be completely
Or I'll never give my heart
And the moment I can feel that you feel that way too
Is when I fall in love with you.

And the moment I can feel that you feel that way too
Is when I fall in love with you.

Well, we don't want this day to go by with out a tribute to Robert Louis Stevenson, folks.

His most famous works are Treasure Island, Kidnapped, and Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DduA5SIkb_U

As a kid, I would swing and sing this poem

The Swing

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside--

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown--
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

I used to be a fan of RL Stevenson. One of his stories I enjoyed was The Bottle Imp, aside from the obvious favorites of his.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for restoring our signal, edgar. I'll have to check out Imp in a Bottle.

So long ago we joked about this.

Cold her in our studio. I had to get up early and cut on the heat.

edgar,Van Dyke Parks' song was great; so was Morgan's song.

Today is Monet's birthday and what a surprise to find two of his paintings in different places.

First, the original
