good morning - and happy birthday to Bud Powell - ' Bouncing with Bud "

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t5gbhk4l7k

Quote:
Earl Rudolph "Bud" Powell (September 27, 1924 – July 31, 1966) was a jazz pianist who was born and raised in Harlem, New York City. His greatest influences on his instrument were Thelonious Monk, who became his close friend, and Art Tatum. Along with Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, Powell was a key player in the development of bebop, and his virtuosity as a pianist led many to call him the Charlie Parker of the piano.

Wonderful music on our radio. I know most of the songs, and I enjoyed all, y'all.

I especially like Edith Piaff, and was surprised to find out that she did the original Three Bells. hbg, I really like Bud Powell.

Sorry that I can't comment on each one. I see there's a newbie with us today. Tell us something about yourself, India.

We missed Olivia Newton John's birthday yesterday, so here are a couple by her.

First, Grease.

Don't you just love the way Matt pronounces the long A in that tribute.

Just got a wonderful portrait from Ursula featuring her, Thomas, and a friend Iris.

Here's another trio to salute that gathering.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for restoring our signal, edgar and your comment.

Ray Price doing My Shoes Keep Walking reminded me of Sir Elton.

@eurocelticyankee,
Welcome back, euro. Love London Town by Paul McCartney. Rather sad that there are only two of "the fab four" left.

Remembering George Harrison.

@Letty,
A true classic from George Miss Letty, great video too.
Just Paul and Ringo left with us now.

Here are the Monkees, I think 3 of the 4 are still with us, sadly Davy Jones died last year.

You hurry back, edgar.

euro, I always appreciate your comments, and The Monkees doing I'm a Believer was great. Enjoyed I'll Remember You by Andy. Reminds me of another song, but I'll play that tomorrow.

I looked out my window and saw one beauautiful star hanging over the canal and I smiled in memory of "..I wish I may, I wish I might have a dream I wish tonight..."

Saying goodnight with two songs. First, an old Disney movie.

Now George again.
