@edgarblythe,
Know most of your songs, edgar. On The Street Where you live is great as well as George Jones and Little Richard.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with a classical and a Phantom song. (I think most of us know that there really was an Eric, but he was born with deformities)

Now, Andrea does The Phantom.

From Letty with love to all of you everywhere.

@Letty,
I had the good fortune, not a big fortune, but fortunate enough to live in England when Julie Felix was living and performing there. I saw her in concert a couple of times. At one point she had her own TV show there.

Here she is performing an old Leonard Cohen piece, along with Leonard.

And here's another Leonard Cohen piece ... a popular number and a purportedly rare bit of footage.

saying good night with an oldie : Catarina Valente - Kiss of Fire

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=godichbms6o

Quote:
"I touch your lips and all at once the sparks go flying;
Those devil lips that know so well the art of lying,
And though I see the danger, still the flame grows higher,
I know I must surrender to your kiss of fire.

Just like a torch you set the soul within me burning;
I must go on along the road of no returning.
And though it burns me and it turns me into ashes,
My whole world crashes without your kiss of fire.

I can't resist you, what good is there in trying?
What good is there denying you're all that I desire?
Since first I kissed you my heart was yours completely,
If I'm a slave, then it's a slave I want to be.
Don't pity me, don't pity me.

Give me your lips, the lips you only let me borrow;
Love me tonight and let the devil take tomorrow.
I know that I must have your kiss although it dooms me,
Though it consumes me, your kiss of fire.

Since first I kissed you my heart was yours completely,
If I'm a slave, then it's a slave I want to be.
Don't pity me, don't pity me.

Give me your lips ...
Love me tonight ...

I know that I must have your kiss although it dooms me.
Though it consumes me,

Your kiss of ... your kiss of ... your kiss of ... FIRE! "

good morning and happy birthday to " the father of bluegrass :

Quote:

William Smith Monroe (September 13, 1911 – September 9, 1996) was an American musician who helped create the style of music known as bluegrass, which takes its name from his band, the "Blue Grass Boys," named for Monroe's home state of Kentucky. Monroe's performing career spanned 60 years as a singer, instrumentalist, composer and bandleader. He is often referred to as The Father of Bluegrass.[1]

Welcome back to Debacle and Neco. As edgar observed, Leonard Cohen is great. Especially like Suzanne by him.

Neco, didn't know the Kalin Twins, but thanks for the introduction.

hbg, loved all of your songs, and I do recall having some Dresden china.

wish I could acknowledge all your songs, but there are too many. Do love Kiss of Fire and The Breeze and I. I had some Dresden china at one time. Wish I had it now.

Today is Fiona apple's birthday, and her first name reminds me of McTag's wife. He is really ill, and I hope that someone can find out about him.
