edgar, Thanks for the comment, and although I don't know Carol by Paul, it was good.

euro, welcome back and thanks for your comment. Donna's I Feel Love was wonderful.

hpb, No piano, but I love that song by Leon. Sorry that I missed your other songs. Will comment tomorrow

Time for me to say goodnight. How about some Manhattan Tranfer.

good morning all - and happy birthday to :

Quote:
Lester Willis Young (August 27, 1909 – March 15, 1959),[1] nicknamed "Pres" or "Prez", was an American jazz tenor saxophonist and sometime clarinetist.

Coming to prominence while a member of Count Basie's orchestra, Young was one of the most influential players on his instrument. In contrast to many of his hard-driving peers, Young played with a relaxed, cool tone and used sophisticated harmonies, using "a free-floating style, wheeling and diving like a gull, banking with low, funky riffs that pleased dancers and listeners alike".[2]

Famous for his hip, introverted style,[3] he invented or popularized much of the hipster jargon which came to be associated with the music

hbg, Love all your songs: Midnight Cowboy, North to Alaska,Open the Door Richard and Doing the Bump was perfect for our "bumping". Thanks to Region for explaining that. I especially liked My Blue Heaven and Lester's Lady Be Good.

edgar, Hank's Ain't Misbehavin' and Hire a Wino by David were both good and humorous.

Today is this guy's birthday, but first some info.

Sarah Vaughan & Wynton Marsalis - September Song

Quote:
"September Song" is an American pop standard composed by Kurt Weill, with lyric by Maxwell Anderson, introduced by Walter Huston in the 1938 Broadway musical Knickerbocker Holiday. It has since been recorded by numerous singers and instrumentalists. It was also used in the 1950 film September Affair, and for the credits in the television series May to December (a quote from the opening line of the song).

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for restoring our signal, edgar, and your comment.

It's Almost September by Chris was so calming, especially the visuals.

Well, tomorrow is the eve of my surgery, so I think I'll play this one that the flower lady sent me so long ago.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=impZlb4MA4c

Hope it's not the eve of destruction. Razz

Sorry that I missed hbg and your additional one. I got really preoccupied with those visuals of edgar's first song.
