@ehBeth,
A "deoch an dorus", a drink at the door, a nice custom if you are walking home across the heather. Not so much if you are using the freeway.

Hello all you peeps out there in radioland. I have no request in my mind this morning, not yet. I listened to the "Prom" last night on TV and it was by the wonderful 110-strong National Youth Orchestra of the United States, that's NYOUSA. The documentary accompanying the broadcast was very heartwarming, too. Worth the TV licence.

Okay here's my song for this morning: You've Got a Friend, by The Singers Unlimited

Or maybe you'd like some pure French voices raised baroquically and complicatedly but impressively.

now, the lyrics
lyrics

Saturday night is the loneliest night in the week
'Cause that's the night that my sweetie and I
Used to dance cheek to cheek
I don't mind Sunday night at all
'Cause that's the night friends come to call
And Monday to Friday go fast
And another week is past

But Saturday night is the loneliest night in the week
I sing the song that I sang for the memories I usually seek
Until I hear you at the door
Until you're in my arms once more
Saturday night is the loneliest night in the week

mmmm... Saturday night is the loneliest night in the week
I sing the song that I sang for the memories I usually seek
Until I hear you at the door
Until you're in my arms once more
Saturday night is the loneliest night in the week

Until I hear you at the door
Until you're in my arms once more
Saturday night is the loneliest night in the week

Now, a birthday gal.

hbg, welcome back. Sorry that I can't comment on all your wonderful song. I do recall, however, awaking on night in Virginia and hearing Rudy sing Deep Night.

Hurry back, edgar. Loved that one by The Fab Four

Hope The Yitwails are alright.
