good morning msletty , ed and all other listeners to WA2K radio !

today is the birthday of a Hollywood Star : Ginger Rogers .

Quote:
Ginger Rogers (born Virginia Katherine McMath; July 16, 1911 – April 25, 1995) was an American actress, dancer, and singer who appeared in film, and on stage, radio, and television throughout much of the 20th century.

During her long career, she made a total of 73 films, and was best known as Fred Astaire's romantic interest and dancing partner in a series of ten Hollywood musical films that revolutionized the genre. She achieved great success on her own in a variety of film roles and won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Kitty Foyle (1940). She ranks #14 on the AFI's 100 Years...100 Stars list of actress screen legends.

@Letty,
Hi Letty, glad everything went well for you today. I was wondering what the doctor would say to you - glad it's good news. Here's one for you, Mel Torme singing Coming Home Baby - a great one for you to dance to!

hbg, My favorite by you was Hey Big Spender

edgar, I love what Tom T. Loves. Don't know that one by the Bee Gee's , however. It was good.

Vonny, so glad everything was benign, and Mel doing Coming Back Home was perfect.

I'm still "tall and lean", but not exactly "middle aged" Razz

hbg, Now I understand why Nat said.."like the dancing of Fred Astaire.." Love Fred and Ginger doing Dancing Cheek to Cheek.

Olivier 5, That was one fabulous vocalist and That Girl by the Noisettes was delightful.

Today is Michael Flatley's birthday and I was reminded of this one.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I love Slip Slidin away by Paul. Hope you enjoyed that Dublin bunch.

Going to say goodnight with two songs.

First, a gospel song. Look at all the people involved.

Now, Gentleman Jim. Another gone too soon.

@edgarblythe,
Loved your goodnight song, edgar. Don Gibson's Blue Blue Day was a wee bit sad, however. C.W. McCall's Convoy was funny.

Here's an unusual mix for the morning.

Sorry, y'all. Had to step outside our studio to get some prescriptions filled.

edgar, thanks for acknowledging Vince's Mozart. Ray Charles at The Club was really good.

vonny, Gary and the Pacemakers' Here I'll Stand was great.

To match Here's I'll Stand, two versions of the same song.

First, Dean.

Now, The Four Lads.

I like the original better.
