@edgarblythe,
Thanks for restoring our signal, edgar, and your comment.

Really love Jimmie Rodgers doing The World I Used to Know especially the line ...Love is just a state of mine.. Had no idea that Rod McKuen (sp) wrote those lyrics.

Don't know Frank Mills song from Hair. He sounded like a lady.

Another birthday gal, but first some info.

Joan Elizabeth Osborne (born July 8, 1962) is an American singer-songwriter and interpreter of music, having recorded and performed in various popular American musical genres including pop, soul, R&B, blues and country. She is best known for her song "One of Us". She has toured with Motown sidemen the Funk Brothers and was featured in the documentary film about them, Standing in the Shadows of Motown.

Now, her song.

Quote:
Sergio Lopez was born on October 27, 1965 in Paraíba, while still in basic education (old primary school), got involved with theater at Colégio Estadual da Liberdade, in Campina Grande, when he knew a friend called Afrânio, with which he shared his own poems or findings from poets such as Augusto dos Anjos and Gonçalves Dias. Son of broadcaster Magidiel Lopes de Souza and Maria das Mercês Lima de Souza, was the oldest of five siblings. His father wrote romantic poems and read them during nocturne broadcasting programs that he broadcasted in the AM radios Caturité and Cariri. Sérgio Lopes lost his parents prematurely, for his mother died from cancer at the age of thirty five and his father died in 1998, at the age of forty six. This led him to enroll on the Navy to guarantee his living and the continuation of his studies.

today is the birthday of Jerry Vale

Quote:
In high school, to earn money, Vale took a job shining shoes in a barbershop in New York City. He sang while he shined shoes, and his boss liked the sound so well that he paid for music lessons for the boy. Enjoying the lessons, Vale started singing in high school musicals and at a local nightclub. This led to additional club dates, including one that lasted for three years at a club in the suburb of Yonkers, New York, just north of the city. When Paul Insetta, (who was a road manager for Guy Mitchell and a hit songwriter) heard him there, he signed him to a management contract, changed his name, and further coached him. He then arranged for Vale to record some demonstration records of songs he'd written, and brought the demos to Columbia Records. Vale then signed a recording contract with Columbia, and Insetta managed him for many years.
