another great musician has his birthday today : the organist Virgil Fox .

Quote:
Virgil Keel Fox (May 3, 1912 in Princeton, Illinois – October 25, 1980 in Palm Beach, Florida) was an American organist, known especially for his flamboyant "Heavy Organ" concerts of the music of Bach. These events appealed to audiences in the 1970s who were more familiar with rock 'n' roll music and were staged complete with light shows. His many recordings made on the RCA Victor and Capitol labels, mostly in the 1950s and 1960s, have been remastered and re-released on compact disc in recent years.

@hamburgboy,
hbg, Thanks for being our dj yesterday and today. Loved everyone of your songs and I wish I could comment on all of them, Ontario. Suffice it to say, you know your music.

Two songs from here in our Florida studio. First, a birthday guy.

@edgarblythe,
Good afternoon, edgar. Love Amen by Harry although I know it best by Sidney.

Here's one that I like, and I hope our listeners do as well.

I always wondered that Paul Revere did a song like that, when most of his songs seemed to go like this

@edgarblythe,
Don't know Just like Me by those raiders. I think they got their name from Longfellow.

Here's another one that I like, edgar, cause it reflects the scary sea here.

@hamburgboy,
hbg, loved all three of your great songs. I do remember that Over the Waves was a match for The Most Beautiful Night of the year. They played that on the hobby horses at the carnival when I was a kid.

Here are a couple of songs to match, Ontario.

First, The Ocean.

Now, another type Candida.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnosgM5yvfE

Sixteen men on a dead man's chest Jo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum. Razz

Oops, edgar, missed your moon man. Love I'll Sail My Ship Alone

@edgarblythe,
I love the "singing ranger", edgar, and he and that ocean should "roll on thou deep and dark blue ocean roll. " He and Lord Byron make a great combo. Razz

Also enjoyed Tony's Halfway to Paradise.

Going to say goodnight with two songs, folks.

First another by Hank, and he'll take us around the world.

Now, one by the Bee Gees. (see if you can find me in there)

Always great to have our trio on the radio.
