Ah, I was hoping that honu would swim in to our radio station.

http://webecoist.momtastic.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/gex_green-sea-turtle.jpg

Searching for Latin George, too.

edgar, loved Rose Colored Glasses-Cruel World-Don't Be Cruel and Dolly.

hbg, I especially enjoyed Luther Vandross and both versions of Malaguena. Cumana is one of favorites. Thanks for acknowledging me as the station manager.

Ah Patti doing Gypsy Rose Lee. Love it as well as "the glitterman's " version.

Hope that I didn't miss anyone.

Two goodnight songs. First, A lovely hymn.

He is the creator and lead vocalist of Michael Franti & Spearhead, a band that blends hip hop with a variety of other styles including funk, reggae, jazz, folk, and rock. good morning and happy birthday to :

Quote:
Charles Mingus Jr. (April 22, 1922 – January 5, 1979) was a highly influential American jazz double bassist, composer and bandleader. Mingus's compositions retained the hot and soulful feel of hard bop and drew heavily from black gospel music while sometimes drawing on elements of Third Stream, free jazz, and classical music. Yet Mingus avoided categorization, forging his own brand of music that fused tradition with unique and unexplored realms of jazz. He once cited Duke Ellington and church as his main influences

edgar, Thanks for your comment and your goodnight song by Hank was one that I didn't know. Window Shopping is a good way to look at life. You know how I like Marty Robbins and that song alluding to The Alamo and Jimmy was fantastic.

Ah, Latin George, Cat's Morning Has Broken was perfect for today. Love the visuals, too. You're right about edgar's sig ling.

hbg, Jazz man Charlie playing the bass brought back some fond memories. Wonderful!

Anyone remember Green Acres? What a delightful surprise to find out that it's Eddie Albert's birthday and here he is singing. He is great.

@George,
Indeed it does, George. All I recall is the music. You surprised? Zsa Zsa Gabor is still with us.

Another birthday guy, and whatever you do, don't watch The Pledge.

@Letty,
Ms Letty,

Here's Joni Mitchell's rendition of the same Mingus composition (lyrics are hers):

Hi, everyone! Here is a song from the 1970's that I liked. (Not all 70's music was disco.)

honu, welcome back. Loved that version of pork pie hat by Joni.

wandel, welcome back to you as well. Didn't know that one by Chris Rea, but Fool If You Think it Over was fabulous as were the visuals.

One of my favorites by Joni

odd, edgar, I know the song but not the performers. Wreck on the Highway reminded me of Jim.

Thanks for the comment on Jim, edgar.

Love Ventura Highway by America.

@edgarblythe,
Horse with no mane? Love it, edgar. Had no idea that Glenn sang Yesterday When I Was Young.

Saying goodnight with two songs.

First a tribute to "earth day"

Now, dear Glenn doing Gentle on My Mind.
