I just saw a big TV documentary, which was Billy Joel playing the last concert at the old Shea Stadium, Queens, New York.

It was very good; he had Tony Bennett, various stars, and Paul McCartney came too, prompting memories of the old Beatles gig there in 1965.

What's wrong with pairing the best of close harmony singing with the best piano player ever?
Nothing?

So many wonderful songs on WA2K radio.

hbg, Going Home was great on that organ. I remember it from The Snake Pit so long ago, and Olivia Dehaviland is still with us.

McTag, She's Always a Woman was great as was The Swingle Singers and Oscar doing The Shadow of Your Smile.

I know you like church music McTag, and I love Andrea, so here is one that my mom loved.

Had a wonderful evening with Carrie. For the first time in ages, I had crab legs. Delicious. So nice having Scotland and Ontario with us. Hope our friend from Dublin is alright.

good night / good morning to all - and happy birthday to Howard Keel .

Quote:
Harold Clifford Keel (April 13, 1919 – November 7, 2004), known professionally as Howard Keel, was an American actor and singer. He starred in many film musicals of the 1950s. He is best known to modern audiences for his starring role in the CBS television series Dallas from 1981 to 1991, as Clayton Farlow, opposite Barbara Bel Geddes's character, but to an earlier generation, he was known as the star of some of the most famous MGM film musicals ever made, with a rich bass-baritone singing voice.

Wonder what made our edgar so crabby, hbg.

Love your tribute to Howard Keel and a memory of "the Roaring Twenties".

Remember this one, Ontario?

@edgarblythe,
My first introduction was via Bud and the King Cole trio, edgar.

Funny one by The Fab Four. Moonlight Bay is great. Didn't know that one, so once again thanks for the introduction.

Love this one by Nat.

Welcome back, hbg. Didn't know that one by Annette, but it was a goodie. I think I did five foot two for ehBeth one time.

edgar, thanks again for your comments and Billy Thorpe was funny.

Going to say goodnight a bit early as I'm a bit overdue for sleep.

Tomorrow is Julie Christie's birthday, so here is one for her.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=old4K4Tpo8c

and "the misty miss Christie' did this one, but I decided on an instrumental with lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AWyyVQg300

and, the lyrics.

This is a lovely way to spend an evening. can’t think of anything I’d rather do
This is a lovely way to spend an evening, can’t think of anyone as lovely as you

A casual stroll through a garden. a kiss by a lazy lagoon
Catching a breath of moonlight, humming our favorite tune

This is a lovely way to spend an evening
I want to save all my nights and spend them with you

That will be dedicated to everyone everywhere.

Great having Ontario via Germany with us.

From Letty with love to the world
