@hamburgboy,
Once again replying to all via hbg.

McTag. As all Canadians know I love Diana Krall.

and Amen came from Lillies of the Field, I think.

Billie Holiday is always good, y'all.

edgar, Our Father Who Art in Heaven by Dinah was truly inspiring.

Sorry that I cannot acknowledge everyone, but as you know I say thanks by thumbing up each contribution.

A couple of songs from here in Florida to greet the day.

First, Texas Flood by Chris Robinson.

If I've played this before; it's worth playing twice.

Inspired by Barry's Marianne, another by the same name.

@Letty,
Oops,this happened a couple of days ago -

Santa Claus is coming to town: Thousands of Father Christmases gather in Trafalgar Square for flash mob
The annual festive party brought a weird and wonderful collection of Father Christmases to Trafalgar Square.
Santacon is a flash mob style celebration started several years ago and has gained popularity through social networking sites.

@Barry The Mod,
Barry, first allow me to say I loved that American Indian version of It Came Upon a Midnight Clear, and that lovely photo of Trafalgar Square where all the Clause men are being merry was terrific as usual. Also enjoyed the song about Santa Looks a Lot like Daddy.

The Life of PI and that Bengal tiger looked great. Rather reminds me of The Jungle Books by Rudyard.

Here's a classic version to match yours.

@Letty,
it's 200 years since Grimm's " Fairy Tales " were published
( also see Google ) - here is some music to celebrate this occasion .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-nDOIkIpW4

Quote:
The Brothers Grimm (German: Brüder Grimm or Die Gebrüder Grimm), Jacob (1785–1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (1786–1859), were German academics, linguists, cultural researchers, and authors who together collected folklore. They are among the most well-known storytellers of European folk tales, and their work popularized such stories as "Cinderella" (Aschenputtel), "The Frog Prince" (Der Froschkönig), "Hansel and Gretel" (Hänsel und Gretel), "Rapunzel", "Rumpelstiltskin" (Rumpelstilzchen), and "Snow White" (Schneewittchen). Their first collection of folk tales, Children's and Household Tales (Kinder- und Hausmärchen), was published in 1812.

@Barry The Mod,
First, to hbg via London.

I love the tribute to The Grim Fairy Tales, and I read almost all of those you listed when I was a kid.

First a clip from the movie The Brothers Grim.

Now, A Walk in the Black Forest. (poor Hansel and Gretel)

Barry, I love I Believe in the Spirit of Christmas, too. There really is a St.Nicholas. Thanks for the Holiday Message as well. Glad that you stumbled across that fantastic native Indian vocalist.

@edgarblythe,
First, edgar, Little Red Riding Hood was great. Know that one.

Also, Frankie Avalon's Ginger Bread song was a funny. Like it, Texas.

A report from the dairy products. They are starting to put milk in glass containers once again because of the contamination of plastic.

Of course we know what Thurber had to say about Little Red Riding Hood. That wolf didn't resemble her grandmother one bit. So she took out a gun and shot him.

How about a wolf in Sheep's clothing.

That was an odd one, letty.
On the milk containers or any other containers, I always will buy glass before anything else. So, I look forward to buying my milk that way.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, Disney and his hipsters. Love that, edgar. Yep, that wolf in sheep's clothing is supposed to be odd.. I was a member of the hippie generation at one time, but not an activist.

I used to be perplexed when the jazz boy said something about hip to the jive, but I finally figured it out later as liking jazz, and here is some of the Christmas type.
