Welcome back, hbg. Hope the weather is neutral in Canada.

Love Bill Anderson's Po Folks and the Cold Hard Facts of Life and thanks for the info. The Sheik of Araby by Spike Jones is always funny and, of course, refers to Rudolph Valentino.

edgar, Thanks for your comment and Bill Monroe's Y'all Come. I've only heard that one by Dolly Parton.

I became fascinated with Valentino when I saw Anthony Dexter do the movie of his life. Boy, do they look alike.

Today is Burt Lancaster's birthday so here is a tribute to that great actor.

A descendant of Fletcher Christian was a crew member. I believe she died when the Bounty sank.

Blake was good too.

Evening Ms Letty,Ed and all WA2K peeps.
Gonna listen to an abridged version of the CM awards tomorrow on the BBC after watching the F1 race from Abu Dhabi.
Saw that sad story about the sinking.
Here's another "victim" of Sandy....
http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af138/barrythemod/To%20Forward/enterprise-sandy.jpg

Superstorm Sandy caused intense flooding and wind damage across the tri-state area, leaving several people dead. Among its apparent victims: The Space Shuttle Enterprise.
The Enterprise has been housed under a protective structure at New York’s Intrepid Air, Sea and Space Museum since July. That structure appears to have gone completely missing in the storm’s aftermath, leaving the Enterprise exposed to the elements.

Back to the music....

Thanks, edgar, for restoring our signal and for your comments. Didn't know that bit of info concerning The Bounty, and Jimmy Clanton's Letter to an Angel was good.

Morgan, I love Sway by Deano. Thanks for the memory.

Barry, Welcome back to you as well. Yes, I saw that photo of The Endeavor. No Charge by Shirley, was great. Don't know her, so thanks for the introduction.

Here's is the closing theme to Mutiny on the Bounty.

@Rockhead,
Didn't know a thing about Locke, Rock, but she has had a terrible life. I think she's suing Clint.

edgar, loved that song of the sea John Paul Jones. He was Scottish.

Another wreck.

First The Fab Four do a parody on it.

Here is part of the serious poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Then up and spake an old Sailòr,
Had sailed to the Spanish Main,
"I pray thee, put into yonder port,
For I fear a hurricane.

"Last night, the moon had a golden ring,
And to-night no moon we see!"
The skipper, he blew a whiff from his pipe,
And a scornful laugh laughed he.

Colder and louder blew the wind,
A gale from the Northeast,
The snow fell hissing in the brine,
And the billows frothed like yeast.

Down came the storm, and smote amain
The vessel in its strength;
She shuddered and paused, like a frighted steed,
Then leaped her cable's length.

Hurry back, edgar and hbg. Enjoyed Lonely Boy by Paul. Also like all of your songs, Ontario. The original Mack the Knife and that song from The Pajama Game, Fernando's Hideaway, OLE plus that Boogie Woogie one.

Welcome back, Barry. Don't know Gentleman Start your Engine, but if I remember correctly, Janis Joplin used to sing with them. Thanks for the introduction.

Today is Peter Noone's birthday. He sang with Herman's Hermits and I like this one.

@Rockhead,
UhOh, Rock. Did you have a Hard Day's Night? Hope not, buddy.

For some reason, I know that Nat sang this one, but I remember it also by Jeri Southern.
