Artist: Edwyn Collins Lyrics and his cd "Gorgeous George"
Song: A Girl Like You Lyrics

I've never known a girl like you before
Now just like in a song from days of yore
Here you come a knockin', knockin' at my door
And I've never met a girl like you before
You give me just a taste so I want more and more
Now my hands are bleeding and my knees are raw
Now you've got me crawlin', crawlin' on the floor
And I've never met a girl like you before
You've made me acknowledge the devil in me
I hope to God I'm talkin' metaphorically
Hope that I'm talkin' allegorically
Know that I'm talkin' about the way I feel
And I've never known a girl like you before
Never, never, never, never
Never known a girl like you before
This old town's changed so much
Don't feel like I belong
Too many protest singers
Not enough protest songs
And now you've come along
Yes you've come along
And I've never met a girl like you before

Blast those Birthday sites anyway!

The first site I had been using, omitted so many birthdays, I went to another site. However, the second site doesn't list when the person died - so I've been checking those dates out on yet another site.

So, to whomever catches errors, my thanks and good tidings and appreciation for a job well done. Laughing

I certainly can't let Errol Flynn's birthday go by without calling attention to it and one of my all time favorite films. Not mentioned in the desription of The Adventures of Robin Hood at the end is such trivia as Will Scarlett's horse is in fact Trigger not yet purchased by Roy Rogers. Little John is played by Alan Hale, father to the Alan Hale Jr. who was the Skipper in Gilligan's Island.

Errol Flynn
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Errol Leslie Thompson Flynn (June 20, 1909-October 14, 1959), was a film actor born in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, most famous for his romantic swashbuckler roles.

As a child he was taken to Sydney, where he attended two schools and was expelled from both. Shortly afterwards he moved to New Guinea, where he drifted from job to job. In the early 1930s he left for Britain and in 1933 got an acting job with Northampton Repertory Theatre, where he worked for two years. After gaining this experience in the acting trade, he moved to Hollywood looking for film work.

Although he had not really planned an acting career, Flynn become a star with his third film, Captain Blood, in 1935. He became typecast as a swashbuckler and made several such films including The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) (widely regarded as his best film in this genre and an acknowledged Hollywood classic) The Sea Hawk (1940), and The Adventures of Don Juan (1948). He also played opposite Olivia de Havilland in the western Dodge City (1939). Overall, Flynn appeared in eight films with de Havilland.

During the shooting of The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex (1939), Flynn and co-star Bette Davis had some legendary off-screen fights, with Davis striking him hard in retaliation for his earning more than she ($6000/wk vs. $5000/wk). Their relationship was always strained but Warner Brothers teamed them up on three separate occasions. A contract was even presented to loan them out as Rhett and Scarlett in Gone With the Wind; however, each declined to work with the other on the project.

He was well known for having wild parties. However, his reputation caught up with him when teenagers Betsy Hansen and Peggy Satterlee accused him of statutory rape in November 1942. A group organized to support Flynn, named the American Boys Club for the Defense of Errol Flynn (ABCDEF); its members included William F. Buckley, Jr.. The trial took place in January and February 1943, and Flynn was cleared of the crime. The incident served to increase his reputation as a lady's man, and the term "In Like Flynn" came to be synonymous with succeeding in romantic endeavors. His suave, debonnaire, and devil-may-care attitude towards both ladies and life has been immortalized into the English language by author Benjamin S. Johnson as "Errolesque" in his treatise on the subject, "An Erroleque Philosophy on Life." [1] (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6929318/page/2/)

By the mid 1950s, Flynn was something of a self-parody: heavy alcohol abuse left him noticeably bloated in his last years. But he still won some acclaim as a drunken ne'er-do-well in The Sun Also Rises (1957). His somewhat unreliable autobiography, My Wicked, Wicked Ways, was published just months after his death and contains humorous anecdotes about Hollywood. Flynn wanted to call the book In Like Me, but his publishers refused.

Flynn was married three times, to actress Lili Damita from 1935 until 1942 (one son, Sean); to Nora Eddington (1924-2001) from 1943 until 1948 (two daughters, Deirdre and Rory); and to actress Patrice Wymore from 1950 until his death (one daughter, Arnella Roma). In the late 1950s, he met the 14-year-old Beverly Aadland at the Hollywood Professional School, whom he courted during his last few years. He planned to marry her and move to their new house in Jamaica, but during their trip to Vancouver he died from a heart attack. His only son, Sean Flynn, became an actor and later a war correspondent who disappeared in Cambodia in 1970 during the Vietnam War. The younger Flynn's life was recounted in Inherited Risk by Jeffrey Meyers (Simon & Schuster).

One of Errol Flynn's grandsons, sometime model Luke Flynn (birth name Luke Stoecker, born 1976), the only child of Arnella Flynn (1953-1998) and fashion photographer Carl Stoecker, was named one of the world's sexiest bachelors by People magazine in 2003. His mother, a former fashion model, died on the Flynn family estate in Jamaica after a hard life of alcohol and drug addiction.

Errol Flynn is interred in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, in Glendale, California. He shares coffin space with six bottles of whiskey, a parting gift from his drinking buddies.

Author Charles Higham published a controversial biography, Errol Flynn: The Untold Story (Doubleday, 1980) in which he alleged that Flynn was a fascist sympathiser and that he spied for the Nazis before and during World War II, but subsequent biographies?-notably Tony Thomas' Errol Flynn: The Spy Who Never Was (Citadel, 1990)?-have denounced Higham's claims as fabrications. Flynn's political leanings appeared to be of a leftist bent; he was a supporter of the Loyalists in the Spanish Civil War and of the Cuban Revolution.

In popular music, Flynn was the inspiration for the song "Errol" by the '80s rock group Australian Crawl. It was a Top 20 Australian hit in 1981. Sirocco, the LP from which the song was taken, was named after Flynn's yacht.

The Adventures of Robin Hood

We really have to take a moment to thank the late great James Cagney. The success of the unlikely cast in WB's adaptation of Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM in 1935 prompted the studio to seriously consider them for a remake of Douglas Fairbanks Sr's silent masterpiece ROBIN HOOD. Cagney would play Robin, while Frank McHugh, Guy Kibbee, Hugh Herbert, and other Warner character staples would comprise his band of Merry Men. Due to a contractual dispute later that year, Cagney walked out on Warners. That was just when Flynn scored big with Captain Blood. Who says timing isn't everything?

Actress Anita Louise was slated to play opposite Errol Flynn in the role of Maid Marian. Originally Olivia De Havilland was considered, as plans for the film were being laid out at the time of CAPTAIN BLOOD's run. But as drafts and plans progressed over the next year, the choice settled on Louis, no doubt because she was appearing with Flynn in THE GREEN LIGHT, the studio's latest success. Flynn's buddy David Niven wanted to part of Will Scarlet, but was filming in England as plans for production congealed, and Patrick Knowles stepped in. It was Alan Hale Sr.'s second time out as Little John; Hale had originally portrayed the character in the Fairbanks version back in 1922.

Filming was done during the fall of 1937 in a local park, on the backlot, but for the most part up in Chico CA. The studio had a large area of property up there used for many films which required extensive exterior shots (other Flynn films shot in Chico include CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGADE, THEY DIED WITH THEIR BOOTS ON, and OBJECTIVE, BURMA!)

Keighly directed because ADV OF RH was to be shot in Technicolor, a rare process at the time (Full, 3-strip Technicolour was still a relatively new and costly process; it was used in small amounts, as in cartoons and shorts); Keighley had directed WB's first 3-Strip Technicolour feature. William Keighley, who had previously directed The Prince & the Pauper, was replaced with Mike Curtiz when execs felt that the latter could turn out more engaging material.

Max Steiner was set to compose the score when Korngold was in Vienna. But when the film's release date was held up - topped with the political climate getting a little hot in Austria, Korngold came over.

Much research was done to compile the various Robin hood stories and adapt the most memorable events, including Robin & Little John's quarterstaff competition, the archery tournament, Friar Tuck carrying Robin across the river on his back, etc. The studio engaged the services of world famous archer Howard Hill, who trained Errol Flynn and did stunt shots; Hill also played Captain of the archers, and competes with Robin during the tournament. The two became very good friends as a result of this film.

Flynn taking archering tips from Howard Hill. - 36kb Flynn getting the handle on his bow - 32kb
Errol Flynn taking pointers on handling a bow from Howard Hill.

A jousting sequence shot to open the film and establish the characters, their rivalries, etc. was cut when it was determined that it would detract from the archery tournament to occur later in the film. Stills and the script of these missing scenes still exist (expect to see new pages with Video & book resource info to be added to this site sometime during the week).
THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD was an international sensation, and replaced Fairbanks' ROBIN HOOD as the definitive film of its genre - a distinction it carries to this day. When it was re-released in the late 1940s amidst a burst of period films, it enjoyed another healthy run. With its colourful costumes and elabourate sets, it was also a popular film to offer television viewers during the 60s & 70s, and no doubt many of you who grew up with it regard ADV OF ROBIN HOOD as THE Errol Flynn movie of choice.

# There are three sequences which folks enjoy recalling above the others: Robin defiantly strolls into the great hall with a deer carcass on his shoulders to engage Prince John in rebellious banter. Flynn, whose features uncannily resembled that of a classic illustration, was a perfect choice for Robin of Locksley, and such a scene of bravado couldn't have been portrayed by a better man.
# Robin visits Marian following his escape from the dungeon. The sequence between Errol Flynn and Olivia De Havilland is considered one of cinema's greatest romantic moments.
# Reprising their duel in CAPTAIN BLOOD, Basil Rathbone as Sir Guy of Gisbourne - having been inspired by 'BLOOD to seriously pursue fencing - and Flynn under the careful choreography of Fred Cavens brought us an exciting sequence which has been imitated and parodied countless times since.

Hey, Angelique. "A Girl Like you" is hard to find. <smile> Thanks for playing that one, 'cause I was reminded of another girl and her birthday.(not our Beth) but someone named Cindy whose song is the background for Carnival Cruise Line.

Yit and Raggedy, no matter, dears. Living or dead we'll stand on our head to salute the celebs.

My word, folks. Panz dropped in and left his Hee Hee behind.

Bob, there was a time when Robin of Locksley was hood, but now, I'm afraid that he's been replaced with hoods of another variety. Recently in the news, I saw where three teenagers murdered a homeless man just for the fun of it. Evil or Very Mad. Thanks, Boston, for keeping us up to date on in like Flynn Errol. Razz

Back later, folks, with Cindy and girls just having fun.

Before I play Cindi, I need to clear up a few things for our listeners:

First: McTag's dinner was beef pot pie.
Second: the idee fixe now gives me some insight into why some people say, " Hey, I got a good idee" instead of idea.

I come home in the morning light
My mother says when you gonna live your life right
Oh mother dear we're not the fortunate ones
And girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun

The phone rings in the middle of the night
My father yells what you gonna do with your life
Oh daddy dear you know you're still number one
But girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have -

That's all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Girls - they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun

Some boys take a beautiful girl
And hide her away from the rest of the world
I want to be the one to walk in the sun
Oh girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have

That's all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Girls - they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun,
They want to have fun,
They want to have fun....

Cindi Lauper.

Van Morrison version

If you ever plan to motor west
Take my way that's the highway that's the best,
Get your kicks on route 66.

Well, it winds from Chicago to L.A.
More than 2000 miles of motorway,
Get your kicks on route 66.

Well, it winds from St. Louis down to Missouri
Oklahoma City looks mighty pretty.
You'll see Amarillo, Gallup, New Mexico,
Flagstaff Arizona, don't forget Pamona,
South Park Garden and San Bernardino.

Would you get hip to this kinda tip
Baby take that California trip,
Get your kicks on route 66, oh!

Yellow is the colour of my true love's hair

In the mornin' when we rise,

I love the best.
Green's the colour of the sparklin' corn
In the mornin' when we rise,
In the mornin' when we rise.

Well, listeners, it's approaching that time of night. It's just beginning dusk here. edgar and his Donovan "...in the morning when we rise...."..nostalgic, edgar.

And once again the world holds its breath:

Published: 6/19/05

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - In any other year, Miss Delaware Becky Bledsoe would be making her travel plans. The folks at Fischer Florists would know when they have to deliver all the corsages and bouquets. Boardwalk Hall would have a two-week period blocked out for pageant rehearsals, preliminary competitions and the crowning of the new Miss America.

But this is not any other year. Miss America doesn't have a date, and the uncertainty has her world in a tizzy.

With three months to go before its traditional start, the beauty pageant is still without a TV contract and has yet to establish a date for the crowning, which traditionally is held in early September.

"It is, candidly, looking more and more like September's out of the picture," said Bob Arnhym, executive director of the Miss California Scholarship Pageant. "Logistically, there's an awful lot of detail that has to be attended to."

Dropped by ABC last fall because of record-low viewership, the Miss America pageant has been searching for a new television outlet to carry the 84-year-old pageant.

Art McMaster, CEO of the Miss America Organization, has declined repeated requests for an interview about the pageant's hunt for a new TV outlet. Spokeswoman Jenni Glenn said Friday the pageant is in "final negotiations with interested networks" and will have an announcement within two weeks.

Keeping the pageant on the air is a necessity - both for visibility's sake and because the Miss America Organization has historically depended on TV revenue to run the show and pay for the scholarships awarded to contestants. In 2003, $5.6 million of its $6.9 million in revenue came from ABC, according to its tax return.

The delay in setting a date has left state pageants, their contestants, Miss America vendors and the operators of Boardwalk Hall - where Miss America is named each year - in limbo.

"I'm asked all the time, `Hey, what's going on with Miss America?'" said Jeffrey Vasser, executive director of the Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority. "Art McMaster assures me there will be a pageant this year. They do have a couple opportunities on the table, but he wouldn't tell me what they are."

Pageant officials have said they are considering a shift away from the tired formula of the telecast - which drew only 9.8 million viewers last year - in favor of something more in line with reality TV shows.

After being cast off by ABC, they hired talent agency William Morris and are said to be aggressively pursuing cable networks, with McMaster proposing to "open up the sacred doors of Miss America," as he told an interviewer in April.

Instead of a once-a-year special that struggles to interest viewers, McMaster has pitched the idea of Miss America as a show aired over several nights, with viewers getting to know the contestants as they do on "American Idol" and other reality shows.

Whatever it is, Miss America's next TV outlet will likely scotch the saccharine speeches about world peace in favor of televised backbiting among the women vying for the crown.

"I don't think there's an audience for squeaky clean," said Shari Anne Brill, director of programming for ad-buying firm Carat. "It has to be modernized in the way we've all been fed such reality. You need to see the tears, the drama, the makeup, the mascara, the crisis of finding out you have a zit."

Meanwhile, the Miss America world waits.

"I'm getting impatient. I want to know," said Leah Summers, who runs the Miss West Virginia Scholarship Pageant.

"Every year, we end the show with a line like `Congratulations to the new Miss West Virginia, Suzie Q, and please join us as we watch her compete in Atlantic City on September 19th.' We can't say that this year. We can't say where or when."

Do we really care, listeners? I don't think so.

There she goes,
Miss America,
There she goes our ideal? Rolling Eyes

well folks, it's the solstice tomorrow, longest day of the year and all that stuff, in other words, it's summer

Summertime Blues

Well, I'm a'gonna raise a fuss,
An' I'm a'gonna raise a holler
I've been working all summer
Just to try and earn a dollar
Well I went to the boss
Said I had a date
The boss said "No dice, son, you gotta work late"
Sometimes I wonder what I'm a'gonna do
There ain't no cure for the summertime blues

Well my mom and poppa told me
"Son you gotta earn some money,
If you want to use the car
To go out next Sunday."

Well I didn't go to work
I told the boss I was sick
He said "You can't use the car
'cause you didn't work a lick."
Sometimes I wonder what I'm a'gonna do
Cause there ain't no cure for the summertime blues.

Gonna take two weeks
Gonna have a fine vacation
Gonna take my problems
To the United Nations
Well I went to my congressman
He said, quote: "I'd like to help you son,
But you're too young to vote."
Sometimes I wonder what I'm a'gonna do
Cause there ain't no cure for the summertime blues.

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

You're going to rise up singing
Then you'll spread your wings
And you'll take to the sky

But till that morning
There's a'nothing can harm you
With daddy and mamma standing by

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush little baby

In the Good Old Summertime Lyrics

ORCHESTRA:
In the good old summertime, in the good old summertime.
Strolling through the shady lanes with your baby mine.
You hold her hand, and she holds yours,
and that's a very good sign.
That she's your tootsie-wootsie,
in the good old summertime.

CROWD:
In the good old summertime, in the good old summertime.
Strolling through the shady lanes with your baby mine.
You hold her hand, and she holds yours,
and that's a very good sign.
That she's your tootsie-wootsie,
in the good old summertime.

Oh, Lord, dj. I had forgotten about the summer solstice. You have a variety of songs there, buddy, including that dark turn on Summertime.

How long ago, George and a few of us sang, In the Summertime when all the leaves and trees are green. We decided that the song was about the worst that we had heard, EVER! The meter was shot from the onset.

Guess we ought to do one in remembrance of Nat:

-artist: nat king cole

Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer

Just fill your basket full of sandwiches and weenies
Then lock the house up, now you're set
And on the beach you'll see the girls in their bikinis
As cute as ever but they never get 'em wet

Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
You'll wish that summer could always be here

Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer

Don't hafta tell a girl and fella about a drive-in
Or some romantic moon it seems
Right from the moment that those lovers start arrivin'
You'll see more kissin' <wolf whistle> in the cars than on the screen

Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
You'll wish that summer could always be here

You'll wish that summer could always be here
You'll wish that summer could always be here

Well, folks, time for me to say goodnight to all our dear hearts and gentle people here on WA2K radio, and dj's Summertime when the Living is easy reminds me of this one:

"Skeeters am a-hummin' on the honeysuckle vine,
Sleep, Kentucky babe.
Sandman am a-comin' to this little babe of mine,
Sleep, Kentucky babe.
Silv'ry moon am shinin' from the heavens up above.
Bob-o-link am pinin' for it's little lady love.
You is mighty lucky, babe from old Kentucky,
Close your eyes and sleep.

Fly away (fly away).
Fly away, Kentucky babe, fly away to rest.
Fly away (fly away).
Lay your sleepy little head on your Mammy's breast.
Close your eyes and sleep.
Close your eyes and sleep."

Goodnight.

In the summertime ~ Mungo Jerry

In the summertime when the weather is hot
You can stretch right up and touch the sky
When the weather's fine
You got women, you got women on your mind
Have a drink, have a drive
Go out and see what you can find

If her daddy's rich take her out for a meal
If her daddy's poor just do what you feel
Speed along the lane
Do a ton or a ton an' twenty-five
When the sun goes down
You can make it, make it good in a lay-by

We're no threat, people
We're not dirty, we're not mean
We love everybody but we do as we please
When the weather's fine
We go fishin' or go swimmin' in the sea
We're always happy
Life's for livin' yeah, that's our philosophy

Sing along with us
Dee dee dee-dee dee
Dah dah dah-dah dah
Yeah we're hap-happy
Dah dah-dah
Dee-dah-do dee-dah-do dah-do-dah
Dah-do-dah-dah-dah
Dah-dah-dah do-dah-dah

When the winter's here, yeah it's party time
Bring your bottle, wear your bright clothes
It'll soon be summertime
And we'll sing again
We'll go drivin' or maybe we'll settle down
If she's rich, if she's nice
Bring your friends and we'll all go into town

etc.

Plenty songs to read this fine summer morning, over here in old England.

Route 66, that's an interesting one....most people associate that with Chuck Berry and with the Rolling Stones' cover version, but it's much older than that and the original was not a rock 'n' roll song.

Let me pay tribute today to the enduring qualities of this thread, which longevity is due the admirable and lovable Letty's untiring efforts. Where many threads survive on bile and rancour until they devour themselves, this WA2K Radio Show goes on and on, fuelled by sweetness and light, good manners and good humour.

Here's to you, Miss Letty.

The Mikado
I have been thinking of funny songs, summer songs, and graduation songs. So, I decided to make two threads on the subject. The first one that kept poping up in my head was "The Mikado". Here are three of my favorites from The Mikado.

THE MIKADO or
The Town of Titipu
By Sir William S. Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan

A WANDERING MINSTREL I

Libretto by William S. Gilbert
Music by Sir Arthur Sullivan
Sung by Nanki-Poo and Chorus

A wandering minstrel I--
A thing of shreds and patches,
Of ballads, songs and snatches,
And dreamy lullaby!

My catalogue is long,
Through every passion ranging,
And to your humours changing
I tune my supple song!
I tune my supple song!

Are you in sentimental mood?
I'll sigh with you,
Oh, sorrow!
On maiden's coldness do you brood?
I'll do so, too--
Oh, sorrow, sorrow!
I'll charm your willing ears
With songs of lovers' fears,
While sympathetic tears
My cheeks bedew!
Oh, sorrow, sorrow!

But if patriotic sentiment is wanted,
I've patriotic ballads cut and dried;
For where'er our country's banner may be planted,
All other local banners are defied!
Our warriors, in serried ranks assembled,
Never quail--or they conceal it if they do--
And I shouldn't be surprised if nations trembled
Before the mighty troops, the troops of Titipu!

And if you call for a song of the sea,
We'll heave the capstan round,
With a yeo heave ho, for the wind is free,
Her anchor's a-trip and her helm's a-lee,
Hurrah for the homeward bound!

To lay aloft in a howling breeze
May tickle a landsman's taste,
But the happiest hour a sailor sees
Is when he's down
At an inland town,
With his Nancy on his knees, yeo ho!
And his arm around her waist!

A wandering minstrel I--
A thing of shreds and patches,
Of ballads, songs and snatches,
And dreamy lullaby, and dreamy lula lulaby, lulaby!

Enter procession of Yum-Yum's schoolfellows, heralding Yum-Yum,
Peep-Bo, and Pitti-Sing.

CHORUS OF GIRLS.

Comes a train of little ladies
From scholastic trammels free,
Each a little bit afraid is,
Wondering what the world can be!

Is it but a world of trouble--
Sadness set to song?
Is its beauty but a bubble
Bound to break ere long?

Are its palaces and pleasures
Fantasies that fade?
And the glory of its treasures
Shadow of a shade?

Schoolgirls we, eighteen and under,
From scholastic trammels free,
And we wonder--how we wonder!--
What on earth the world can be!

TRIO.

YUM-YUM, PEEP-BO, and PITTI-SING, with CHORUS OF GIRLS.

THE THREE. Three little maids from school are we,
Pert as a school-girl well can be,
Filled to the brim with girlish glee,
Three little maids from school!
YUM-YUM. Everything is a source of fun. (Chuckle.)
PEEP-BO. Nobody's safe, for we care for none! (Chuckle.)
PITTI-SING. Life is a joke that's just begun! (Chuckle.)
THE THREE. Three little maids from school!
ALL (dancing). Three little maids who, all unwary,
Come from a ladies' seminary,
Freed from its genius tutelary--
THE THREE (suddenly demure). Three little maids from school!

YUM-YUM. One little maid is a bride, Yum-Yum--
PEEP-BO. Two little maids in attendance come--
PITTI-SING. Three little maids is the total sum.
THE THREE. Three little maids from school!
YUM-YUM. From three little maids take one away.
PEEP-BO. Two little maids remain, and they--
PITTI-SING. Won't have to wait very long, they say--
THE THREE. Three little maids from school!
ALL (dancing). Three little maids who, all unwary,
Come from a ladies' seminary,
Freed from its genius tutelary--
THE THREE (suddenly demure). Three little maids from school!

SONG--KO-KO.

On a tree by a river a little tom-tit
Sang "Willow, titwillow, titwillow!"
And I said to him, "Dicky-bird, why do you sit
Singing Willow, titwillow, titwillow'?"
"Is it weakness of intellect, birdie?" I cried,
"Or a rather tough worm in your little inside?"
With a shake of his poor little head, he replied,
"Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow!"

He slapped at his chest, as he sat on that bough,
Singing "Willow, titwillow, titwillow!"
And a cold perspiration bespangled his brow,
Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow!
He sobbed and he sighed, and a gurgle he gave,
Then he plunged himself into the billowy wave,
And an echo arose from the suicide's grave--
"Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow!"

Now I feel just as sure as I'm sure that my name
Isn't Willow, titwillow, titwillow,
That 'twas blighted affection that made him exclaim
"Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow!"
And if you remain callous and obdurate, I
Shall perish as he did, and you will know why,
Though I probably shall not exclaim as I die,
"Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow!"

REVEREND LEE LYRICS

This is a song about a very big, strong, black, sexy southern baptist minister

Who thinks he's got his program all together, until he meets a lady who lets him know

That he ain't got it all together, his name is reverend dr. lee

Reverend lee, he went to the water, and he prayed to the lord

About old satan's daughter, it seems in a dream, child, while he lay sleeping

She climbed in his bed, starts rubbing and weeping, ah, she was twisting and turning, hmm

She was begging and pleading, loving and burning, panting, breathing, ooh, ah, ah

Reverend lee, she said, lord knows that I love you child, but I would not even, no, no,

Place God above you, well reverend lee, he lifted his arms high

Said heavenly father, take me home to the sky, he said lord please don't test me

Not down where she touched me, my mind is so hazy

And you know my body is hungry, oh yeah, and then God rolled the thunder

And he hurled the lightening uh, oh, he seemed to be angry

Well it really was frightening, yes he was, oh the thunder grew louder

Darkened conditions, and just then a voice said, God cannot be petitioned

Just then the devil, oh he emerged from the water, and he said in that dry voice

Your God will not barter, reverend lee, he went screaming from the water

And he was hotly pursued by old satan's daughter

And she said, she said reverend, ooh, reverend, reverend lee

She said reverend lee, do it to me, she said, she said, uh, reverend lee

(reverend, reverend, reverend, reverend lee), I don't want nobody else to do it

Do it but you, do it, do it, yeah you, do it, do it to me
