@ossobuco,
Good Morning Folks, hope everybody Stateside is safe & sound.

We moan and gripe about the weather here in Ireland but one thing I'll say for it; at least it doesn't try to kill us.

Good morning. I have a small drop of Irish in me, but am a Heinz 57, meaning, I am a mongrel of the first order. It's going to be a busy but ordinary day here. See you all later.

Good morning from here in Florida, WA2K folks.

hbg, I always miss your day of the week. It's woden's day here. Loved Bill Monroe's Blue Moon of Old Kentucky; the Dutch barrel organ; Rosemary's Mambo Italiano, and Moonlight Sonata. Hurry back Canada.

edgar, Red Silk Stalkings and Green Perfume. Love it, Texas. You hurry back as well.

osso, another great Christy song and montage. Had no idea that you were Irish.

euroGeorge. Yep, all is well on the East Side of the Peninsula. I Can't Stand the Rain was a goodie.

Hope I didn't miss anyone as I tend to be restless at night when hurricane season hangs over my head.

Two songs for the morning here.

First, a birthday guy.

Now, the "play it Sam" gal.

Quote:
More than three million guests are visiting this yearly major maritime event on and at the Fjord of Kiel. The festival is also visited by sailors from all over the world, even Olympic and World Cup champions, who are competing in several sport boat regatta races. However, even for companies the Kieler Woche offers multiple interesting possibilities to hold an outstanding corporate event. Have a look at our exciting programs during the Kieler Woche and go aboard the impressive windjammer ships.

hbg, as I have said before. It is quite easy to make kind comments to you.

Loved both your Greek songs, especially Stelios. Also enjoyed Keiler's Navy and those beautiful ships.

euro, Dublin's tall ships were beautiful as well. That Irish Diva was fantastic.

Well, you missed the "bird man's birthday salute", but I won't let you forget Ingrid.

This is not the original, but I couldn't find the original "play it sam", so here is old blue eyes.

More synchronicity, because Zorba the Greek was on Turner Classic Movies the other night.

Here is a cover of that one by Jose.

@edgarblythe,
Love that song by Tom Waits, especially the dew covered leaf with the lady bug beetle, edgar. Just a reminder of the man.

Thomas Alan "Tom" Waits is an American singer-songwriter, composer, and actor. Waits has a distinctive voice, described by critic Daniel Durchholz as sounding "like it was soaked in a vat of bourbon",

I like his voice. The movie Zorba the Greek starred Anthony Quinn, Texas, the same one who played Gauguin in Kirk Douglas' Lust for Life.

The mention of the ocean in your Tom Waits song brought the poet to life .

Remember, an apostrophe is speaking to someone who is not there as though they were.

Here is an interpretaion of George Gordon, Lord Byron's poem.

Sorry for the rather abrupt ending.

Byron - a poet I admire.
I searched for this version of Dean Martin's song and this was the only one on youtube. It's about my favorite of his records. Not great quality sound.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. I love Return to Me by Deano. Wasn't there a movie called that with David Duchovny? I think he and a couple of Afro dudes sang Play That Funky Music White Boy. Funny, as I recall a Japanese guy from Berkeley telling me that funky meant tacky on purpose.

Well, folks, two more days until the end of August, so here is Willy singing September Song. (Kirk Douglas is still alive)

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. "the jester" doing leopard skin pillbox hat was odd, but that's what makes Dylan good.

You sent me searching again, Texas.

Remember Uncle Remus? His mammy dreamed of polka dots and that's how the leopard got his spots.

@eurocelticyankee,
Where I used to live in very northern california is, I gather, somewhat like Ireland, coastal Ireland, at least in weather patterns. It was a small city; they even had an irish store (cough, expensive).

What we had but you don't (knock on wood) is earthquakes.

I'll have to stop with the Amsterdam video. I've had it as an earworm all this live long day.

@ossobuco,
I'll be back with some music.

Meantime, I have to comment that I wish EuroCY had gotten to talk more with Kara, one very lovely woman. She still posts here once in a while, but not often.
Not only brains, but wit, she has.

One of my hopes in the past was to visit them in Connemara. (She and her husband are older, live in the US and Ireland.)

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment on Frank, edgar.

I don't think I ever heard Rick do a bad song. He's right about Garden Party.

"you can't please everybody so you just have to please yourself."

Saying goodnight with two songs.

First, Bobby Darin with My Buddy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AG0P8h5rXQ

Now, Stella by Starlight.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG99BXKAg3c

Beautiful tribute to the lovely women of motion pictures and Old Blue Eyes does a great job.

Nice to have Ontario and Dublin with us today. Hope London is ok.

From Letty with love to the world

When I lived in Rhode Island with my first wife, I listened Bobby's record of My Buddy so often that she requested I stop playing it.
Good visuals in Franks song, letty.

Hurry back, edgar. Loved that one by Dennis Day and thanks again for your comment.
