@McTag,
McTag, Welcome back to you as well. Ah, I still cry when I hear Old Shep.

Those two Smelly Cat visuals were funny and true. Thanks for the smile.

Whitman: I think that I could turn and live with the animals. Don't think that he meant these, however.

Love Rockin' Rollin' Ocean by Hank Snow. I don't think that I've ever heard one by "the singing ranger" that I didn't like

good evening all listeners !
do you remember " Martha Reeves and the Vandellas " ?
well , it's martha's birthday and she still has a full schedule !

here is one of her great hits : " Dancing in the Streets " .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdvITn5cAVc

Quote:
Martha and the Vandellas (known from 1967 to 1972 as Martha Reeves and the Vandellas) were among the most successful groups of the Motown roster during the period 1963–1967. In contrast to other Motown girl groups such as The Supremes and The Marvelettes, Martha and the Vandellas were known for a harder, R&B sound, typified by "(Love Is Like a) Heat Wave", "Nowhere to Run", "Jimmy Mack" and, their signature song, "Dancing in the Street".[

Good early morning from here in Florida. Didn't sleep too well because I kept having allergy attacks.

edgar, I love Distant Drums by "gentleman Jim". Thanks for the memory.

Hurry back, Brit. Randy's Woman on Your Arms was a great song. Also enjoyed Thea Gilmore's you're the radio. I remember about the rocker problem with Paul and "the boss".

You sent me searching again.

Thea Eve Gilmore (born 25 November 1979, Oxford, England) is a British female singer-songwriter. She began her career working in a recording studio, where she was discovered by her now long-time collaborator, producer and sometime co-songwriter Nigel Stonier, whom she married in October 2005.

hbg, You beat me to the punch. I really like Martha Reeves and the Vandellas' Dancing in the Street.

Here's one to match.

and, yawl, inspired by Roger's forum concerning fly catching, another memory.

Venus Flytrap.

@Barry The Mod,
Welcome back, Brit. My older sister introduced me to Tina Turner saying that she thought "...proud mary was pot..."

Don't know Nutbrush City Limits by the lady , however.

@Barry The Mod,
Hurry back, Brit. I know that one best by Sachmo. Been searching for the meaning to Red Bud Tree, and it may be about The Civil War.

Here's a birthday man that I don't know, but I love discovering things for our radio.

First, some info.

Jalacy Hawkins (July 18, 1929, Cleveland, Ohio – February 12, 2000, Neuilly-sur-Seine, France), best known as Screamin' Jay Hawkins was an American musician, singer, and actor. Famed chiefly for his powerful, operatic vocal delivery and wildly theatrical performances of songs such as "I Put a Spell on You", Hawkins sometimes used macabre props onstage, making him one of the few early shock rockers
